So DC has a long history of getting my hopes up only to swiftly crush them soon after, especially in regards to live action and animated projects featuring Batman and co. Namely the lack of said company, or the inacurate, out of character portrayals of them (I'm looking at you "Cassandra Cain" in the "Birds of Prey" movie). I have learned not to get my hopes up, because I have been let down so, so many times... but this latest release genuinely makes me question the intelligence of whoever greenlit the project. Moreover it feels like they are deliberately trying to make Batman comic fans angry. If I didn't know better I'd think it was a personal attack on the entire Batfamily Fandom. We want an animated series following the Batfamily, we have asked for it, begged for it, (at least I have). So I think you can understand my utter outrage when I came across a new animated series on Prime called "Bat-Fam" and click on it only to find an unflattering, goofy, childish cartoon that from what I can tell, only features three wildly out of character members of the Batfamily (Bruce, Damien and Alfred), alongside some random character named Clair. WTF DC, do you hate me? The new Superman movie had almost made me hopeful again, but then you go and do this??? Quality over quantity people, we will wait as long as we need to if you just do it right, we waited for Young Justice (and some of us are still waiting, #bringbackWallyWest). Speaking of Young Justice, DC if you want to make a Batfamily animated series that the fans actually want, here's my pitch: A Young Justice style adaptation of the Batman: Wayne Family adventures Webtoon. There. Solved. So my fellow nerds, if you are as fed up and angry about this as I am, please, take to the Tweets. Post anywhere and everywhere, call DC out, put them on blast, let them know that we are fed up with their BS and their fanbase deserves better. Justice for the bats!!
