He was used to some kind of ‘paparazzi’ when it came to his life and his work. Being the son of not one, but two of the original Avengers inadvertently put you in the spotlight if you will. Though it wasn’t like he’d managed to make a name for himself. The blond spots a woman out in the midst of the chaos and he just quirks a brow. That’s when and assailant is moving up to attack from behind her. Archer runs along the bus he was using as a vantage point before he jumps off into a forward flip, rolling as he hits ground, rolling up into firing position about 10 feet from her. He draws, knocks, holds, aims, and fires (could have been long enough for her to get a shot?).

She’d feel the arrow whip past her head, the hum of the feathers in her ear. “A thousand pardons, we’re trying to keep this bullshit contained lady.” the assassin hisses out before he rapid draws and fires three arrows around her. As for the enemy? More people like Toomes, people who gain access to tech they didn’t understand.

Everything had begun to happen so fast. One moment things seemed stabilized and then there was chaos erupting around her. It should be noted though that she’s used to chaos by now and that it didn’t scare her as much as it just left her in a bit of a surprise. But, she recovers quick enough to take a photograph of him when he’s firing. It’s a great shot. She’s gotten some of the others. 

She felt it fly past her and a smile appeared on her features. “Looks like you’re doing a pretty good job.” She commented, before moving back to taking photographs behind a car.

It was another standard day in the life of Violet Baxter. She was currently trying to get photographs of The Avengers while they were hard at work. She knew better than to stand so close by. But, she didn’t seem to care and she narrowly avoided becoming a casualty of whatever was happening. She didn’t even know if these were normal people that were being fought or more aliens. “Oh come on, I can’t get a good shot if no one stands still.”

“Yeah, he’s a nice guy.” Barry was one of the best, he really was. Not that he didn’t have his own issues, but he’d helped her through some pretty rough times. “What do you mean?” She glanced at the apprentice. 

“I mean, Archie can’t really wrap his head around what’s happening. He’s getting jittery which he always does right before he totally goes off the deep end.” She shrugged. “I’ve worked with him so long that I know what he’s doing and why.”

Kara was about to comment on the kids asking her about heroes before the question took her off guard. “The Flash?” She reached up and adjusted her glasses. “Well. He saved my life and we kind of became friends after that.” It wasn’t a lie.

“I don’t know if I would call myself friends with any of the avengers. I mean, I have a pretty good working relationship with Tony Stark. But, that’s cool that you two became friends. Archie’s head looks like it’s bout ready to explode though.” She laughed, rolling her eyes.

“Huh.” That was very interesting, maybe they did that to Violet on purpose to try and steer her away from trouble. “That’s very —- wow. I’m not sure what to say. You must really love your job.”

“I do. I really love it. It feels like its important, too. I always get little kids who come up to me about their favorite hero. It’s pretty cool. So, do I want to know how you know the superhero?”

“May I ask why he’s your assistant if he’s so frightened of everything?” Kara wasn’t understanding. Even Winn was braver than Archie seemed to be and – well, Winn was frightened of a lot of things. Rightfully so. 

“He came highly recommended, ironically.” She looked over to Archie for a moment before looking back to Kara. “It does make things interesting. I tell him to go somewhere, he says no, i drag him there anyway.”

“I don’t think so.” But wasn’t that partially a lie? Kara ran head first into danger practically every day. Well, Supergirl did. There was a soft smile on her lips. “It’s okay to be afraid sometimes.” Not everyone had to be brave all of the time.

“I can’t afford to be scared. I’d never get the pictures that I need.” She replied, knowing that she’d been in some situations where people would’ve been terrified. “And Archie is just scared of everything.”

“Really. That’s very interesting.” She surely hadn’t heard of Supergirl, then. Thank goodness. Kara could let her guard down a little more. There was a nod. “Well, Archie might have some good sense to him. It can be very dangerous, doing that. I have a friend that doesn’t do that so much anymore, but he used to a lot.” 

“Good sense is overrated.” She didn’t feel like anyone could really live a great life if they were constantly worried about all the bad things that could happen. “And Archie is an overgrown child. He’ll tell you as much.”

“You must love your job, in that case!” Amusement colours her words, warms her tone as she sips on the flute of champagne. “So, if you’re bored and won’t accept aliens as a form of excitement, what would you tolerate?” A drunken brawl seems unlikely, given the security and the constant flow of tantalising hors d’oeuvres. A band is said to arrive at nine, though. Dancing, music, refreshments. All the basic staples of any elite party. Granted, aliens or some form of negative presence is also a staple in New York, but it seems that her new acquaintance doesn’t particularly want to be reminded of that.

“Are you being serious right now? Because, I can take or leave my job.” He didn’t much enjoy chasing Violet into dangerous situations. He just wanted things to be easy. He did like photography. But, he didn’t like the chaos that came with Violet. Of course, he was too lazy to find another job. So he just tolerated it. “I mean, decent conversation is always a good way to pass time.” He offered, turning to face her for a moment. “I still haven’t seen Violet. I know she’s here.”

“Wouldn’t that liven it up a little?” She isn’t sure what happened that has led her to the event of the century ( although, if the tabloids are anything to go by, this is just the event of the week in Tony Stark’s books. ) but she’s torn between a happy breed of excitement and a general unease surrounding just how out of place she looks among the designer suits and glamorous dresses.

Granted, she’s wearing a nice dress ( according to Betty you can’t go wrong with a little black dress ), and she certainly felt confident when she was outside, but she wasn’t surrounded by super models and glamorous celebrities outside.

“It would.” He replied, lazily. But, he’d rather be terribly bored and standing around asking when it would liven up than have someone crash it. He especially did not need to see any aliens. “But, sometimes it’s better to be bored than to find out what could happen when you ‘liven’ things up a bit.”

“Never heard of them.” Probably because it was an Earth-1 thing. Kara’s eyes widened behind her spectacles. “Really? Well, that sounds — fun.” A part of her wondered if Violet would want to take photos of Supergirl. Then she might have more than one photographer after her. 

“I’m not that surprised. The cop hadn’t heard of them either. But, I hadn’t heard of The Flash, either.” She assumed it was because they weren’t from around there. “It can be pretty funny. Archie hates it because I tend to throw myself head first into trouble to get photographs. He’s not very brave. I’ll do whatever I have to do to get the picture.”
