Additional Research

While i’m editing in Premiere Pro i’ve decided to construct my glitch effect idea partly. the text glitching I will edit in After Effects however at the end of my project film I want a glitch between two clips back and forth. it’s hard to explain but once i’ve created it i’ll upload just that section to show how I did it and what it looks like, but for now i’m following this guide that i managed to find online to show me roughly how to create this glitch effect :

Editing in Premiere Pro

So to start the editing and effects off with a bang i’m currently editing my footage in Premiere pro to have the correct cuts and clips in the right places before taking the footage into after effects for the rest of the editing.

Film planning

So I'm about to record my footage for my project but before I start I really need to plan out my shots and stuff.

So shots that I definitely need are going to be as follows :

Shots of me standing and smiling

Shots of me holding a controller

Shots of me mimicking holding weapons

Posing shots

Providing I hit these and take extra shots editing should be pretty easy 😊👌

After researching how to create a glitch effect so far i’ve found this video the most useful as it focuses on text which is one of the features i would like to make glitch into another text.

Video plans

This is the rough plan for my shots and final outcome. the writing in blue and purple will be text behind me in the video and the purple sketch objects will be my sketched weapons that i’ll add in afterwards in after effects. 

What i’d like to do is glitch between the real word and game world. I just need to learn how to create this glitch effect.

Art style idea

The art style I'm thinking for the sketching is similar to the image above but slightly more roughly sketched in blue because that's my sketch pencil colour and that's how my sketches would normally look.

So far in my slogan hunt I've found a few I really like;

I'm a gamer, not because I have no life. But because I choose to have many.

I saved the kingdom, rescued the Princess and defeat the boss. What have you done lately?

Those ones I think are the best. The last 2 were of my own creation.

Another thing I've been thinking about whole looking at slogans relates to the second image above. While each sketch equipment changes I'd like to have a different reference message behind me. For example if I have the master sword from Zelda I'd like to have 'ive rescued the Princess 'oh written behind me. Perhaps go through various different messages about what I've done in video games before ending with just a shot of me without drawings with 'what have you done lately? Written behind me. This is the idea I'm most keen on!
