Hello, I hope you don't mind me asking, and please don't feel you have to publish an answer if you don't want to! But after you posted that fanart ages ago I went through your OC tag and I'm really fascinated by Lenna, I was wondering if you would tell me more about her? (I also feel very anxious about sharing OC stuff despite how I love them, and I also just wanted to say I think she seems really cool!)

Hi! I try not to post too much but I made Lenna up with a friend in a star wars role play we started while stuck at home during covid. Things quickly spiraled from there into a whole network of AUs- I ended up making her my main OC I woukd use to practice writing and try things out. Shes very special.

As far as her actual backstory, she's part of two canon compliant fics I wrote in high school and still need to finish posting. She's Hux's friend since they were teenagers training to do stuff in the first order. They end up having a falling out around age 20 but never get over it and get closer again during the events of the sequel trilogy. Even between then they always have each other's backs. I think it could be interpreted that there's some kind of romantic thing between them, but I like to leave it slightly ambigious in the actual fics and let people decide themselves. Theyre both not great at feelings anyway. I also appreciate friendship a lot more. As an adult Lenna is an Admiral. Sometimes I headcanon her as Hux's second (slightly against her will) because he hates just about everyone else. She has a really strong sense of morality and as Ren gets more out of control it freaks her out and she starts handing stuff over to the resistance. When Hux gets shot in TRoS she (having no idea he DID give stuff to the resistance) thinks he was blamed for what she did and it was all her fault! Massive emotional damage. She also has a chronic illness (bloodburn) which has been really fun to write since representation rocks!

In the final flashback sequence where Grace remembers his time on earth in his dreams (while Gracias A La Vida plays), the last shot before he wakes up is of him sedated and about to be placed in the coma.

In the background behind his head, we can see a figure wearing a white sweater with their hands in their lap, rocking back and forth for a couple seconds.

On Grace’s last day on Earth, Stratt was wearing a white sweater.

Her movement in the shot implies that she’s crying and saying goodbye.

I'm so fascinated by people who seem to believe that analyzing media is somehow taking the joy out of it. Like. Do you not enjoy thinking? ok lololol i told myself i'd put these essays together before posting critiques of critiques but this was so stupid i just have to post lol i saw a tweet where someone posted a response to JJ Abrams being quoted as saying he'd wished Hux's character got to be explored more onscreen, and this person replied saying JJ's an idiot because "Hux was poised to try to overthrow Kylo by the end of 8" ...That is not Hux's character lmao!!!!! That is not in character for Hux to do! It is not in character for Kylo to want to be the Supreme Leader! Kylo has no right to run The First Order! He has no authority over Hux or The First Order without Snoke! Snoke was funding The First Order, The First Order could not exist without Snoke's money. Kylo Ren was absconded at 15 and lived under Snoke's thumb all that time until now... Kylo Ren doesn't have any fucking money. Kylo Ren's whole world revolves around Snoke, he was groomed by him while still inside his mother's womb. Kylo Ren spends every scene we see him share with Snoke trying his best to please and impress Snoke because Snoke is the most important person in the world to Kylo, he even venerates Snoke to others when Snoke is not present, he fights with Hux over who can impress Snoke more because both of them see Snoke as a surrogate father figure in their own ways. Hux snarls at Snoke even though he is powerless against him, Kylo Ren never shows active defiance of Snoke, like even when he does defy him ie. when he refused to allow Hux to destroy BB-8 because Kylo wanted to bring the map to Snoke to impress him over focusing on stopping the enemy from finding Luke; Kylo isn't defying Snoke because he disagrees with him. When Hux disagrees with Snoke you SEE. IT. ON. HIS. FACE. and he knows Snoke can see it too, and he's fully aware that the only reason he doesn't get punished for acts of insubordination like that is because Snoke is in no way shape or form threatened by Hux whatsoever because he's physically meek and cannot use the force. And like, I'm sorry, but I really do think that JJ and Domhnall were developing one of the most fascinating Star Wars characters to ever exist and I just DO NOT THINK that a character that is heavily implied to be a csa survivor(also I think the very FIRST representation of MALE sexual abuse survivors in Star Wars??? PLEASE inform me if I'm wrong!) that went through absolutely unimaginable abuse at the hands of his father, other adults, and peers, was meant to be portrayed being placed back into a position where he is being abused by an authority and for comedic effect no fucking less. I really do think that there was more to Hux and the politics 7 set up that we just never got to see because of 8. I do not think Hux was ever going to fight Kylo Ren for the position of Supreme Leader and I do not think Kylo would have had any interest in overthrowing Snoke that early into the story to begin with.
