what do you love/hate most about your powers?
The first thing that shot through her head was Everything. There was not one thing that Haera really liked about her powers. They were tiring, suffocating and were torturing her.
âIâm sharing my mind, my body, everything, with spirits and demons. Things, that are not physical and not everyone can see them. I hate that they can take advantage of me and I canât defend myself. What they wish to do with me, they most likely are able to do. Iâm not really living my life. I never will.â
what fact did you learn at an embarrassingly late age?
âI..don't know, actually.â, she started slowly, frowning slightly. Most of her childhood she had spent with her grandma, who was too old to really do much, and with spirits, that were physically unable to really do anything. âI canât ride a bike..I canât swim..I donât know much about general interactions..and learned most stuff about love and romance from spirits talking about their loved ones.â
tell me about the most memorable spirit you've met.
Sighing, she leaned back, rearranging her white dress over her knees.
âThere was this one spirit, her name was Julia and she had been by my side since I can remember. She even knew my grandma since she was born. So she was around for a while. To be quite honest, Julia was the only spirit that came close to being my friend. We spend a lot of time together, she took care of me when my grandma was asleep and my parents didnât and she even thought me some stuff.â, Haera explained, smiling lightly at the memory of the young ghost that was with her day and night. âI wished she wouldâve left the island with me but she was tied to the grounds I used to live on and I hated to leave her behind but nothing would ever bring me back to that place.â
craziest thing a spirit's ever done?
TW: Murder
Haera froze in her spot as soon as she heard the question. It sends her back to the days she had to spend with her âfamilyâ, back to the days she was locked into that godforsaken room and it felt like the smell of those scented candles wavered around her again.
She had wished that she had a funny story to tell, that she could say a spirit walked through walls to make her giggle when she still was a kid or steal one of the pigs on the farm. But instead, the first thing she had to think of was this.
âPossession.â, she started, hiding her shaking hands under her thighs, âItâs something Iâm used to at this point and not many spirits mean to harm me or anyone else while they possess me. But not every spirit has good intentions.â
The memories came rushing back, forcing her to take a deep breath, as she felt the guilt pulling at her heart. She wanted to be honest and she should be. It was part of her life and it would forever be, she should embrace it. Yet it still was something she felt disgusted by.
âI guess the craziest thing a spirit has ever done, possessed me, just to take revenge on a family member. It killed him.â, she whispered, nails digging into the leather of the chair as she could basically feel the slowing pulse of the man under her fingertips again.Â
"do any spirits hang off of my shoulders ( or am i just hallucinating again )?"
âYes, two.â, Haeraâs answer was quick and she barely had to even look at him. She could already feel the presence of the spirits and it made her shiver again. âBut they donât seem to be doing..much. Theyâre just..kind of floating around you and giggle. I can try and banish them if you want?â
first impression of me?
Haera wasnât sure what her first impression was. It was a chaos of emotions all thanks to the spirits surrounding that girl, which is why she wasnât even sure what she shouldâve said as she was already talking, âIâm not entirely sure..the first thing I noticed was the spirits and they scared the living daylights out of me with their stare..but I guess also scary..the spirits added a lot to the setting..â

Haera nodded, surprised that the girl knew something about her past, âYeah, it was pretty bad when I had to take them.â
Her words were quick and mumbled, as she was visibly uncomfortable talking about it. She pushed her hair back, as she looked back up, still not getting used to the spirits that surrounded them.
âWell..I guess you canât see them then..â, she mumbled, somewhat disappointed before her eyes snapped back towards the girl, her face expressionless for a few seconds, before the same innocent look returned to her face.
Haera was used to spirits possessing her sometimes and she was used to the dizzy feeling when she came back to her senses. But that didnât mean that she particularly liked spirits to use her like this and especially before asking.
âYouâre Olivia, right?â, she asked, holding herself back from angrily banishing the spirit who was giggling to itself.

thoughts and prayers
The sudden closeness to the spirits hit Haera like a sucker punch, sending shivers up and down her spine and letting her head spin, waves crashing in her mind, dragging her consciousness down, before spitting it back out over the waves.
Her gaze snaps up to meet the girls and usually, she wouldâve felt terrified. She wouldâve left the books behind and wouldâve run off but right now, she found herself still on the ground, fingers digging into the leather book cover, as she decided what to say.
âNo..â, was the first thing that left her lips, a barely audible whisper, as she looked up to look at the spirits hovering around them now.Â
The spirits were whispering, trying to mess with Haeraâs head, as she searched for more things to say. As she searched for a reason why she wouldâve obviously stared at the girl in front of her.
âIâm..Iâm sorry, itâs a weird question.â, she suddenly started, frowning as the spirits wouldnât keep quiet, interrupting her newly formed idea in her head, âBut do you see..or feel..any more people standing..kind of directly around us?â
thoughts and prayers
@avblackout
Haera didnât notice her glare at first. In fact, her eyes were locked onto the shoulder of the girl, watching as the transparent hand clung onto it. It made her shiver to see the spirits stuck to the girl.
She had heard about it once. Heard about how spirits would cling onto people, even if they arenât mediums, even if they canât see them. But this was the first time Haera had really seen it and it somehow scared her a bit. Though she didnât know why she was scared. She was not sure if it was because of the spirits or because of the reason why the spirits where there, which she didnât know. At least not yet. She couldâve asked but was afraid to invade the girlâs privacy.
So she just slowly took a deep breath, deciding that it was none of her business. That was until she met the girlâs, and the spirits, gaze. She shouldâve known that she was obviously staring and that she wouldâve got caught, but the pure intensity of the glare surprised her. Made her flinch and scared her own spirits away with a screech, sending the books next to her flying to the ground.
Hurriedly, she got up from her chair, now trying to avoid the girlâs eyes, as she was picking up the books, checking and making sure that they werenât damaged.
Okay this is actually such an amazing prompt like oof but also, probably literal hell for Haera :â) I wrote some prompts down, if youâre interested in them or want to do your own plots, you can like this and Iâll gently slide into your imâs lmaoÂ
Honestly Haera is so confused as to what happens and she really doesnât know how to react and what to do. Her first reaction is to help other students, but with the number of spirits skyrocketing around her, she is frozen in place and possibly needs help from muse. So that she wonât end up as one of the new spirits.
You lost one of the people you know and canât find them. Scared that they might have died, you see Haera and beg her to look around to see if there is any spirits that matches the description you give. (If sheâll see the spirit or not is up to you)
Haera lost her necklace, that she held so close to her heart. Instead of trying to find safety or something, she just keeps on searching for that necklace. You notice her, not leaving her room, no matter what happens, so you are about to basically drag her out of the room. Just before she gets dragged out, she getâs a grip of the necklace and takes it with her. And now she is lowkey indebted to you because you saved her life and she doesnât know what to do.
After things have somewhat calmed down, Haera decided to help the spirits, either come to terms with what had happened or help them find their way too the spirit realm, and the students, who did lose someone, communicate with their friends one last time. After she had finished that, you decide to join her and sheâs ready to do the things sheâd done for hours now again, but instead you just want to take this time to take a breath and try to sort your mind, about what had happened.
accidentally haunted
@avbeom
Haera had dealt with nagging spirits her whole life. She had been used to the wailing, stuff being knocked over or thrown around, even possession wasnât something surprising for her. If she didnât give the spirits enough attention, they would just force her to pay attention, and she didnât really do much against it.
Honestly, she didnât mind the spirits, even the annoying ones. They kept her company so she wouldnât feel that alone or left out. Even if they didnât talk and just spookily drifted around her, letting out a chilling groand here and then, she just treated them like a living being. Because somehow they were alive, even though they had passed on already. Their mind and soul stayed alive.
But after arriving at the academy, she was drained. Emotionally and physically. She was just tired and for once in her life, she wished for the ability to turn her power off, just for once, she needed time to breathe and be alone. What she definitely did not need was the spirit, bouncing around her, screeching, tugging on her dress and her hair, as she made her way through the academy.
She knew it wasnât smart to banish it, especially not in the academy and especially when she couldnât control the power all that well. But after another harsh tug on her hair, she snapped. Turning her glare towards the spirit, before she told the spirit to âget lostâ. To which the spirit left out another screech, that slowly faded away as it vanished. Reliefed that she would have her peace from the spirit for now, she let out a sigh, returning to her journey, through the academy. But again, Haera wasnât able to control her power that well and while she was walking through the academy, another shiver ran down her spine, as she sensed another spirit. For a second she stopped in her tracks, looking like she was glued onto the tile she was standing on, as her eyes glazed over. She was looking for the spirit, seemingly inviting it to join her. But as she heard a, all too familiar, screech seep through the walls, she quickly snapped out of her trance, leaving her a bit dizy, as she slowly came back to her senses.Â
A part in her, told her to just ignore it and move along. But she was too much of a goody two-shoes to really just ignore it. After all she could get in trouble if the spirit decides to mess up the academy or mess with a student. So she decided to search for it, so she could take care of it again.
Following the screeches and occasional shivers, she rushed through the academy, until she found herself in front of a dorm room.
