The idea of friendship between them was more for his benefit than hers, if he didn’t set that boundary he would ultimately fall hard for her all over again. Even though he could tell it upset her he knew it had to be done. “I know you’re not, and I noticed that the more time I spent with you. Which is why the person you do end up with won’t see you in that way at all.” He whispered as he continued to hold her close. When she asked him to stay he let out a small laugh. “Who said that I was going anywhere?” He whispered, feeling a small pull at his lips knowing that she needed him.

When she was snuggled up to his chest, her heart was hurting. She still loved the guy. She really did, and she couldn’t keep denying it. “That means I’ll have to find someone that wants to spend time with me.. Not much guys do that, they usually think I want to have sex with them.” She sighed, looking up at him. She didn’t want that. Elijah was the only one she ever had sex with. “I don’t know, I only thought you came to.. Talk, and then you’d leave again.” She let out a small chuckle, still looking up at him. Well, at least he was her friend now. That was better than nothing.
