Vic’s episode of adventuring academy had real big brat tamer vibes on brennan’s part, no? I feel like Vic in most of their interviews, the interviewee is like woahhhh what are you doing Vic?? That’s so crazy out of left field!!! But Brennan knows all their tricks.
OH ABSOLUTELY. brennan's ability to corral vic is one of the first things that drew me to vicbrennan as a pairing; there's an episode of good time society's blood on the clocktower that they were on together (link here) where they have a conversation early on in the game, and while vic is being obviously tricky and avoidant, brennan speaks to them calmly, evenly, softly. he doesn't fall for any of their wiles! the aa is definitely very similar to that.
i think the difference is the most clear when you look at their adventuring academy vs their last meals. josh is clearly flabbergasted by everything that vic does, rapidly losing control of his own show, and vic literally commandeers the crew for their sick game (#theirsickgame) of eating spicy chips. some of that definitely happens in the adventuring academy, sure, but brennan keeps it firmly under control. he said he "felt a bow in the structure" (probably not an exact quote i'm going off of memory), but he didn't lose control. they are firmly under his control the entire time, even if they feel like they have the upper hand. he knows all their tricks <3
