Before of entering the basement after work, Sam takes a moment to pry on Alan: so drained, so frail, so lost in his head, he genuinely feels for him. His impulse’s to run and wrap Alan up in a hug, but Sam’s like petrified. All he does is standing staring 🤎
Another evening spent talking about anything and everything: religion (Sam’s an atheist), food, music, books. Alan and his patient’re so at ease with each other now, that they look forward to their little moment at the end of the day, to sit together and chat effortlessly 🤎
Sam’s out to buy a takeaway dinner when he notices Alan’s face smiling at him from a missing person poster. Nothing that he shouldn’t have expected: his family’s looking for Alan. But Sam being Sam just feels a pang of jealousy: Alan’s all his and the rest of the world’s to get used 🤎
Sam’s chained to his personal living hell, for what he’s done he could never, will never recover. He keeps staring at photos of Alan he fetched at his place, tears streaming down his cheeks. He feels dead inside and all he wants is to disappear, to vanish 🤎
There’s a new guy living upstairs from Alan: Sam, very quiet except when he listens to country music at full volume. Alan usually meets him briefly on the stairs, he wouldn’t mind chatting a bit. But when he delivers Sam his mail, all he gets in return’s a piercing, wary gaze 🤎
AU in which dr Strauss’ new neighbour’s a rather peculiar rather handsome dark haired guy named Sam, whose mission in life’s to upgrade his new garden. Right now he’s outside his front door shouting orders to the gardners, much to Alan’s amusement 🤎
AU in which Alan’s enjoying a week camping by the beach and notices a tall dark haired handsome guy going for long walks on the shore every day. Alan peers with interest and hopes to bump into him next time he goes jogging by the ocean 🤎

AU in which business man Alan’s in the process of meeting his new lawyer, younger mr Fortner. While waiting to be received, he catches a glimpse of Sam and cannot stop staring. His train of thoughts takes a whole new direction that doesn’t involve work 🤎
Alan’s begged Sam to take him out for a walk in the forest. The solitary path in the woods allows them to become one with nature and soak up the warm sunlight filtering through the trees, without risking encounters with other human beings. Alan feels reborn 🤎
After romance, therapy focuses on sex: something not so easy to talk about for Sam. Very difficult, actually. Alan listens as kindly and compassionately as usual, trying to encourage Sam to open up, but the younger man struggles with it, so they quickly move to some other topic 🤎
During therapy sessions Sam and Alan are focusing on romance, how Sam sees it, what it means to him. Turns out he’s not really into it, i.e. could care less about it. Alan’s seriously questioning also Sam’s attachment to his former wife 🤎
Experimenting with synced gifs. They will probably be out of sync when you first load them. Please try to refresh, they should be fine afterwards.
If they're giving you any trouble, I'd appreciate if you let me know.
Thank you <3
It’s Alan’s wife death anniversary and he is feeling at his lowest. Sam’s not the most empathic person ever and while he genuinely worries for dr Strauss, he doesn’t seem to find the right words to express it 🤎

Sam 🤎
Sam‘s lashing out again, banging fists on the table. He gets all worked up, Alan manages to keep still, listening and taking notes. Till the anger outbursts washes out like the tide, leaving Sam exhausted and empty inside 🤎
