Approaches for successful social media marketing
There is no doubt that Social Media has played such an important role in our daily life. Every day, millions of people use social media to share information, express their feeling, interact with people, and even do business work.
Just from my teacher Rachel’s social media marketing class, I begin to aware the variety use for social media. The best use for social media marketing is creative and motivational ideas rather than boring propaganda. Here I got a brilliant case study about social marketing and I really want to share it with you.
Warner Music Group held SXSW Music Residency in 2013. Unlike the other camera companies, Nikon had a totally new attempt. Instead of recording the music shows by the company itself, Nikon allowed their fans to record the music shows by Nikon cameras. Armed with a special camera that has built-in wifi, a certain number of fans were chosen to take photos for the three day’s music show and then post them to the social media instantly. Obviously, the participators for SXSW Music Residency are outstanding persons in the field of music. Thus, they undoubtedly become the best choice for spread the idea of Nikon camera. Nikon shared its new camera with its fans through this music show. What’s more, these fans spread their photos and videos to tweeter and the clicks were almost 166 million times.
This is a very successful case for social media marketing. Though Nikon took a lot of risk, it did it at last. And the new product was spread out with the fans’ first hand experience. It was far more reliable than direct advertisement.
The best way for social media marketing is creativity, inspiration and conviction. If a company can take these factors into consideration, the social media marketing plans will become really constructive.
