REFLECTION PAPER: WHY MAN CREATES
The short film about why man creates was very informative despite the old quality of the cartoon that was used. It discussed the processes that man undergoes in creating new ideas and explained its purpose to the world. It was a very nice and interesting short film because it showed all the struggles and ideas that man came up with from the very beginning of the time, the time when man created things using sticks and rocks. I could relate to it in such a way that I also apply those processes whenever I try to design and make something from scratch. The trial and errors gives us the chance to learn more from our mistakes in order to improve. As well as the criticisms of other people that gives us idea's from other people's point of views. The part that I liked the most was the scene where there was a ping pong ball that bounces higher than the rest. My interpretation for it is that every person is unique and being âdifferentâ doesn't mean something is wrong with you. Just like what they said in the short film, âand there are some who maintain he landed safely in a place where balls bounce high tooâ.
In my conclusion, man are very curious beings and we create in order to solve the questions in our heads. By fooling around and playing with possibilities, we can create things that can transform our lives.
Proposed Concept: Hi-Tech Holographic Cone Speaker
Introduction
High-tech design movement seek for the most advanced technology possible. It focuses on technological innovations that will exceed expectations by looking beyond possibilities in order to create what seems to be the impossible. This product is designed not only to improve our modern speakers but also to give people a mind-blowing experience of its 3D holographic features and 360 degrees surround sounds.
Objectives
To create a product that will benefit the demand of people by providing a hightech speaker that is more efficient and user friendly.Â
Features:
- 3D reflection hologram
- Source of energy; rechargable and solar-powered
- Inclusions of bluetooth and wifi
- Built in applications such as Spotify and Youtube
- Speakers detachable via magnet
Benefits:
-Easier access to music applications -User-friendly detachable speakers. -Minimalist design that is light and portable. -Hightech holographic designs that gives 3D visions -Can be used as lamp in different colors. -Made of Aluminum and stainless steel.
How will it work?
My proposed internal design for this is to place a reflected hologram inside the top body of the speaker. It will serve as the main speaker that will control every function. The solar-powered cell will be placed surrounding the speaker on the side where it will be covered by the screen. It will be charged every time it is under any source of light. The 3 hologram will also be functional by tapping the top part of the speaker where thereâs a light indicator that will tell if its on and as well as if its fully charged.
Here are a few articles about holograms and solar power energy that will support my design:

âPratoneâLounge Chair
Minimalist and unique furniture by Dmitry Kozinenko. Minimalist design movement is one of my favorite movement because of its elegant, classy and simple look. This is one of my favorite designs because of its 3D illusion style on the walls as if there are shadows. It is also very sleek and is very appealing to the eyes.Â
The concept of âPastillasticksâ
My concept for the design is simply using the traditional Filipino pastillas and placing it in a stick like a lollipop. The pastillas is packaged individually using pink Japanese paper (photo to be uploaded soon). The outside design is a recycled sola bottle covered with flattened twig-like paper. I also used colored leaves to make it look more like a Filipino design. My inspiration for the design is the Sinulog festival that is held in Cebu yearly where they use colorful themes and paint. Materials used: -Recycled Sola Bottle -Textured twig-llike paper -Colored transparent leaves -Designed yarn -Bond paper for the printed informations
