It’s the year 20XX, decades prior humanity developed a mutation in their dna after a widespread radiation leak. This mutation evolved and humanity began to develop powers, or as they’re called “mutations”. People began to use their mutations for crime and evil, terrorizing innocents, which led to the build of a society with heroes! Heroes can legally use their mutations to stop villains and criminals and depending on their rank are widely known. Mutation types fall into three classes. Beast mutations present as a permanent alter to physical appearance causing one to look like a hybrid of sorts, they usually manifest with traits akin to a certain animal though it’s possible for objects and nature to be the subject of said mutation. This class is often faces discrimination for their permanently altered appearance and animalistic nature of their mutation. Host mutations present as the user can control something either with their mind, physical connection, or command by voice. It’s a very diverse class ranging from users able to control water to puppeting artificial limbs to speaking with animals. The main identifying factor is there is TYPICALLY no permanent or temporary change of appearance, but it’s common for small marks or defects to present themselves along with the mutation at the time of development or when in use such eye color change or marks in the skin. Transformatory mutations present as the user is able to go from their initial appearance and then transform into another, either on command or when meeting certain criteria. The type is self explanatory. Not to be confused with Beast type, Transformatory types are not permanently changed in appearance and will always have an original appearance to return to. Mutations develop typically between the ages of 2-8, the most common age for beast type is around 2 years old, Host type around 7 years old, and Transformatory type around 6 years old. Genetics can play a big role in what type of mutation occurs but it’s also common for children to develop a mutation completely different from their parents.
