So I was watching The Invitation on Netflix and they either replaced or took out the word fuck whenever someone said it, but kept it in on the subtitles. Like seeing a woman get her throat cut is okay but saying fuck is going too far.

Spoilers for episode 7 now that I’ve watched it in it’s entirety.

Lackluster in some parts Cringy in others up until the last twenty minutes or so.

Spoilers. Okay so I’ve haven’t seen episode 7 because I have to watch it in full with my mom and sister but I have seen two big moments here on Tumblr.

1) Where Louis slices Lestat’s throat and Lestat saying I’ve loved you with all of myself. I’m like bitch no you didn’t, but I’m hoping you’ll come back.

2) Where Louis reveals Rashid to be Armand and the love of his life. Do I care about either of those things? No. Did it come way out of left field because I wasn’t paying that much attention to Rashid and Louis acted very dismissive? Yes.

Shoving the coffin out the window was Louis throwing the only thing Lestat cared about/needed from inside that house out onto the street.

Louis talking to Claudia while in bed with Lestat gave me man done left the relationship in every way except the physical.

You stupid Louis, I get that you think staying with Lestat is your punishment for the who and what you are and the choices you’ve made, but it really ain’t and if you won’t do it for you do it for Claudia. Think of it as a gift for taking such good care of you, but you were right though the goat chase was humiliating.

Do it Claudia, Louis ain’t going to stop you or say anything because he wants Lestat gone too.

This episode gave me all the life I needed.

Lestat was getting such joy from getting some emotion from Louis after a near two decades of getting nothing.

Just goes to show Jacob, Bailey and Sam did their job and acted their assess off.

I feel like if they wanted to make this realistic Louis(A black man)would have had the cops called on him and been arrested for breaking into Antoinnette’s(a white woman) residence. If not by her given she probably knows their vampires than by someone else who doesn’t.

They should have just left right when they found Lestat with Antoinnette again after he faked her death.

Was Rashid popping up real or just a drug affected memory as a dream given the suspicion around him?

People putting spells and enchantments outside their door I wonder how long it’ll be before it’s torches and pitchforks.

Never not once does Louis look at Lestat when Lestat begins talking about how he’s different and wants a second chance and by Louis’ say so he’ll leave Louis’ life. It’s only when Lestat says forever that Louis looks at him whether it’s from how much Louis doesn’t want that or from shock at the thought that Lestat would give him that I don’t know.

Oh so your ass can leave but neither one of them can. What kind of shit is that?

Louis don’t let make you feel bad about how you feel about what they do.

I don’t believe for a second lestat didn’t have a hand in paul’s death.

Both of their asses are stupid for having that let’s leave/goodbye interaction out in the open seconds after Lestat disappears from view because as we all know Lestat has a habit of spying on people.

I take that back they should have left as soon as Louis was strong enough to travel.

I think when claudia says bastard it’s for Lestat but when she says fucking bastard it’s for Bruce.

He should have immediately began drinking human blood after the beating he received from Lestat and practicing his mental control over others.

Not really sure why they marked Tom and the Chief of Police. Someone will have to explain that one.

Claudia was so lonely and what happened to her was horrible but Lestat did warn her and I feel like Louis unintentionally lead Bruce to her.

Yo that cemetery scene took me out. I was balling.

I don’t feel or look at that like it was DV probably because I don’t see Louis and Lestat as a couple. I see them as two gay dudes that for their own separate reasons can’t find anyone else to be with so they decided to be with each other.

Sam, Jacob and Bailey acted their asses off. You really felt what the characters were feeling.

I will say they did execute a perfect DV situation.

“Dear, let’s stop this. You don’t want to fight like this anymore.”/The abuser trying to reason with the significant other as if it’s the significant others fault.

“I’m trying to restrain myself.”/The abuser about to hit the significant other. Or in the midst of hitting the significant other letting them know they could hit a lot harder/do a lot worst so they should just be grateful and accept this.

“Stay back Claudia. It’s okay. It’s all good.”/The significant other trying to reassure the child in the situation what’s happening isn’t happening.

“Stay where you are. It’s okay. We’re done.”/The significant other telling the child in the situation what has happened is over, but is still concerned for that child’s safety.

“I fought myself a million times. Fought my nature. Controlled my temper. I never once harmed you.”/The abuser to the significant other once they’re done because the abuser has had enough of the significant other not doing what the abuser wants.

All you have to say for yourself is I’ll kill her soon as if Louis gives a damn about what you do anymore. Newsflash Lestat he hasn’t for a while.

I wish Louis would have told Lestat telepathically “I do love you just not in the way you want me to.” then tell him verbally Please Lestat let me go. I think it would have made the scene a whole lot better.

Demanding Louis read her like Louis is his lap dog and essentially violating her all over again because I can assume he could guess what that look was about.

Oh Claudia is for sure about to kill him after this.

I also wouldn’t have minded if after Lestat says How did Charlie taste? Like the love you’ll never really know. Claudia would have said something along the lines of I could ask the same of you then look over at Louis. Or when Lestat says she was a destitute little girl destined to live out an inconsequential little life that Louis said something long the lines of is that what you thought of my life.

How much blood does Louis have? I gather not a lot given the diet he’s on, but from the thick trail of blood from their house to outside, the pool of it where Lestat made him stand and how deeply Lestat drank from him as they went up in the air I’d said a hell of a whole lot. And also no one fucking noticed or heard them completely demolishing their house with that fight. Yes I get it great depression so most if not every house on their block is abandoned, but damn.

Wouldn’t it be mind blowing if the one Lestat says “You are a mistake.” to is Louis. Like Louis and his bullshit actually pushing him that far.

They can but don’t like to eat human food because of how it taste but drink and smoke everyday when I know alcohol and tobacco taste gross.

Also when Claudia smears whatever type of dessert that was on the wall I was like nuh-uh you better come back here and clean that shit up. Logically I know they probably had servants because Lestat said it in episode one, but still it’s about respect and that shit wasn’t necessary. Also I know it was probably done to show her immaturity.

Spoilers for Interview with the Vampire episode 4 if you haven’t watched.

It may just be me, but the beginning of that lovers lane scene between Claudia and Lestat seemed super predatory on Lestat’s part.

That’s so fucked up how he made her watch as her first love be burned to ash or how he was so callous about the fact that he was dead.

He’s a jealous hypocrite. A hypocrite because he himself loved a mortal(s). A jealous one because of the connection Louis and Claudia have and the connection Claudia was making outside of them but more specifically him as her maker.

So they couldn’t just band together and heal her wounds like Lestat healed Louis’ bite mark in episode one. Like smear their blood all over her. Sure there’s a chance she’ll die from smoke in her lungs but like that’s hell of all lot better than being stuck forever at fourteen.

And anyways if I were Claudia I’d be hella angry after Louis told me that I’m this way because of something he escalated and then felt guilty about. Like piss on you dude.

So it’s confirmed that Lestat really can’t hear Louis’ thoughts. I thought he could and he was just lying about it.

So I was talking to my sister before we watched the episode about how I saw a tumblr theory post about Grace saying are you sure you two are the right people to adopt and Louis would say why because we’re queer and she would say no because you kicked a door off it’s hinges. Anyway I said the theory also pointed out that everyone seemed to be in black and that maybe it was Mama du Lac funeral. My sister said I hope so she was a bitch.

I literally thought Claudia was going to commit suicide and maybe she still will.

I might add more when it comes to me.

Was Grace insinuating that Louis’ a sugar baby. Like no honey Louis was doing fine and well long before Lestat.

Did he do even more fine and well after they got together yes, but his success was never dependent on Lestat. In fact Lestat made it a point to stay out Louis’ business ventures beyond getting paid back what Louis borrowed from him. Of course Grace doesn’t know all this, but still she should know her brother isn’t the type to be bought.

Louis threatened Grace then kissed her cheeks like nothing even happened. I was woah I ain’t never seen this side of him toward his family at least.

I think Louis dealing with Grace at the funeral and Louis dealing with Paul on Liberty St. are two different people.

What if each vampire gets an ability unique to them. Lestat has telekinesis because his need to be in control and Louis gets pyrokinesis because of his justifiable temper.
