By the time he had finished speaking Luffy had already headed off for full speed, and Sabo was standing there left behind. A resigned sigh left him as he reached up to fix his hat by habit, but ended up not grabbing anything. Feeling a bit awkward he instead adjusted the helmet a bit, did a few stretches and bounced off on his own in the opposite direction of Luffy accompanied by the younger pirate’s roar.

So, a hunting contest was it? This really reminded him of when they were young and running around in the forest of Mt. Colubo. If not sparring, then their small competitions had usually been something akin to this, although a lot of the time it ended up with them taking on larger prey that they could handle and then have to run for their lives. This time it was different. This time they both had the skills to actually drag back the huge monsters they intended to prey on.

This was just so much fun. Although it wasn’t the same as when they were kids and although it would never be like when they were kids ever again, it was still fun. None of the animals here were of any challenge to Luffy, but it was better than nothing. Luffy would just have to catch the biggest animal then! Too bad none of these animals were as big as the tiger lord. 

Luffy was too excited to stay hidden until he was close enough to charge at the animals so he just ran around, making a lot of noise, stretching his arms out to wrap around different animals that were in his rubber reach. “Why is everything so tiny?” Luffy wondered as he rode the back of a bear who was trying to shake him off. “Well, you’ll have to do I guess…” The pirate then punched the bear once, knocking the animal out. He picked up the unconscious bear without any trouble even though it was twice his size and ran back to where he thought the location where he parted from Sabo was. “Sabo!!!!” He called out. But, without knowing it he was running the wrong way.
