Wacoal Eveden contacted us to provide them with an interactive digital brochure to showcase each of Wacoal Eveden’s brand’s collections and provide their buyers with the ability to build and save product assortments. It would also be used as an enhanced sales tool to demo virtual products, play videos and also show marketing PDF’s and imagery. The aWorkbook team were supplied all the data content and imagery from Wacoal Eveden and a few weeks later a fully functioning cross platform digital catalogue was live and ready to use. After a busy few months behind our desks, the team at Hark Solutions went out for a well earned Karting birthday celebration. The sun was out, the helmets were on and rubber was about to be burned.

    After the first few entertaining laps there were some heated battles, spin offs and also some pretty good lap times. We also had the pleasure to be joined by British Schools Karting Championship winner Adam Fleming (pictured in white t-shirt) and his father Keith. They quickly put us in our place and showed us how kart racing should be done! Adam was putting in consistent fast times and gave us the inspiration to push harder and faster. After Adam and Keith had finished showing us up, they said their goodbyes and left us to our own devices. Jon went with the theory that Adam had a faster kart so he sneakily decided to change kart in the hope for first place.

  Although his hardest efforts to win didn’t come through, he still got his slow-motion camera moment!

  A great day was had by all and we wish Adam the best of luck for his future races.

OpenSSL Heartbleed Fix

The OpenSSL Heartbleed security bug has been all over the internet recently spreading panic to service providers as they rush to apply a fix.

This recent bug has got it’s name from the heartbeat extension for OpenSSL in which the fault occurs. OpenSSL is security software located on servers and operating systems that is used to protect data transactions that go back and forth over an internet connection. This recent bug has left security wide open and has allowed the potential for attackers to eavesdrop on communications and steal valuable data directly from users and service providers. It has also allowed attackers to impersonate a service provider and gain user data from oblivious users.

Ken Munro from Pen Trest Partners said “It’s the biggest thing I’ve seen in security since the discovery of SQL injection”. To gain perspective on this statement you just have to look at the stats provided from Netcraft – around 500,000 service providers are using variations of the affected software on their secure servers. Many companies have taken their services offline until they can rectify the problem, however some have managed to fix the security flaw with a swift server update which has been available from the 7th of April.

Thankfully our aWorkbook users do not have to worry as we have updated our servers and we will be continuing to provide our services as normal. If you have IT specialists within your company, make sure to share this information to them to help prevent any potential security leaks.
