CMAT at the Ivor Novello Awards 2026, wearing Ashish SS26.
She won Best Album for EURO-COUNTRY! 🎉👏
In her acceptance speech, CMAT said she has a “very specific idea of what songwriting is supposed to be for”.
“I think it is to reflect the times through your own personal view, so that everybody can have something to connect to and something to learn from years later.
“Now I would compel my fellow artists in the room – it is not the time to sit on the fence.
“I have no time, sympathy, or empathy for anybody that decides to make life more difficult for people who are just trying to live, and that’s what this record is about."

Angela Bassett at the Met Gala 2026, wearing Atelier Prabal Gurung
Her gown is inspired by the painting Girl in Pink Dress (c. 1927) by African American artist Laura Wheeler Waring, now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum.
'Laura Wheeler Waring’s portrayals of Black women across the social spectrum often transcended class norms and disrupted prevalent stereotypes. Here, her young sitter is presented as an icon of the Jazz Age, with the sleek, bobbed coiffure and elegant drop-waisted flapper dress that were emblematic of the period. The artist’s skillful portraits of Black figures drew praise from an initially skeptical Alain Locke, the philosophical leader of the Harlem Renaissance, who later acknowledged the modernity of her subjects. Portraits such as this one solidified her stature as the foremost Black female painter of the Harlem Renaissance.' X

No it’s not an outcome of so called indo-islamic architecture as taught in our history books.

Louisa Jacobson at the Met Gala 2026, wearing custom Dilara Findikoglu:
'A mini crinoline corset dress, embellished with antique Afghan and Victorian jewellery. The delicate silk train, composed of four mud stained dresses.
As an artist whose work centres on celebrating and freeing the body, I wanted to take a different approach for this years MET theme. Here, the body is not only adorned, it is armoured. It becomes a shield, a survival mechanism shaped by the demands of a patriarchal world.
Through this look, I ask: can I exist in power without abandoning my vulnerability? Can I be both at once?'
