Team Mongolia’s Winter Olympics 2026 outfits by Goyol Cashmere

The ceremonial outfits are made from Mongolian cashmere with silk trimming and are adorned with traditional horn motif embroidery.

'Rather than merely blending traditional garments with modern design, this collection aims to reintroduce the ancient Mongolian clothing culture-an inseparable part of our great history and cultural heritage-to the contemporary world and share it on a global stage. Drawing inspiration from the attire of the Great Mongol Empire of the 13th-15th centuries, one of the most powerful periods in our nation's history, the designs preserve essential traditional elements such as a functional skirt slit that allows freedom of movement, a raised collar that protects against wind and cold, and a fully closed overlapping front symbolizing warmth and unity. Finest Mongolian cashmere is elegantly finished with silk trimming, embroidered with traditional horn motifs, infusing the garments with a refined ceremonial character.

Using Mongolian cashmere-long relied upon by our nomadic people to endure harsh winters-we have created ceremonial deels that honor traditional history and culture, alongside premium cashmere knit casual ensembles inspired by alpine ski sweaters rooted in Western mountain culture, enriched with motifs of the Mongolian ger and nomadic life.

Through these designs, we proudly present to the global sporting stage the resilience, wisdom, and warrior spirit forged over thousands of years by Mongolians who have endured the eternal winters of the Central Asian highlands.

Priyanka Chopra at the 5th Annual Gold Gala, wearing a custom gown by Amit Aggarwal, designed in partnership with stylist Ami Patel.

Constructed from a 20yr-old sari, the gown is decorated with chikankari, a traditional embroidery style from Lucknow, in Uttar Pradesh, Chopra's home state.

'The traditional Chikankari from Uttar Pradesh, where Priyanka hails from is a signature craft known for years. Lucknow was always a Mughal city, and that history still lives within the craft.

The age-old Mughal jaal and the beauty of parametric architecture are connected through biomimicry. What I wanted to create for her became a passage of light.

For this piece, we revived a two-decade-old Chikankari sari, embroidered entirely by women on an incredibly delicate chiffon, using a single silk thread. It is one of the most delicate forms of lace-making in India.

At Amit Aggarwal, I looked at Chikankari as a starting point. I took that softness and openness and rebuilt it in my own language through rubber cord, recycled glass, and hand-formed beads, all signature materials of the brand.' X

The gown was constructed from a patchwork of 30 vintage dresses from as far back as the 1920s, sourced from eBay. It was then beaded, hand-painted, and embellished with metal appliqués.

Her gown is inspired by the painting Girl in Pink Dress (c. 1927) by African American artist Laura Wheeler Waring, now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum.

'Laura Wheeler Waring’s portrayals of Black women across the social spectrum often transcended class norms and disrupted prevalent stereotypes. Here, her young sitter is presented as an icon of the Jazz Age, with the sleek, bobbed coiffure and elegant drop-waisted flapper dress that were emblematic of the period. The artist’s skillful portraits of Black figures drew praise from an initially skeptical Alain Locke, the philosophical leader of the Harlem Renaissance, who later acknowledged the modernity of her subjects. Portraits such as this one solidified her stature as the foremost Black female painter of the Harlem Renaissance.' X
