Ā Ā Ā jacob laughs good-naturedly, a twinge of guilt curdling in his stomach as observant eyes pick up the FLUSH that hasnāt faded ( DARKENED if anything ). smile softens, gaze dropping to his beloved camera.Ā ā donāt worry about it ; theyāre more for ME than any public consumption and ā ā another small laugh, graze rising and camera dropping down once more,Ā ā ā thereās a certainly beauty in falling, yāknow. i DONāT take bad photos. ā that last bitās a joke; jacobās taken plenty of shitty photos in his life. most of photography is just being in the right place at the right time and having a camera in your hand to capture the beauty that passes you. there is a beauty in falling though, and with the sun setting and darkening the other to a blank silhouette, heās not so sure that the photoās going to be the embarrassing disaster he obviously thinks it is. the dog rubs up against his leg again, and jacob gives the dog another thoughtful pat. ā consider it a BLESSING. everything happens for a reasonĀ and itās good to have something to keep you on your toes a bit. theyāreĀ cute, by any means. good conversation starter. ā
āDo you just do that for fun, then? The camera, I mean. I mean- Taking pictures. Obviously. Wow, Iām really on it today, arenāt I?ā He laughed for the umpteenth time, wondering when the stranger was going to just shoo him away at this point. Axel talked to people constantly--he had to for work, he had to for school, and he had roommates. It wasnāt like he was socially awkward by any means. It just seemed that in some situations he just couldnāt a grip on how to communicate. Could have to do with the fact heād just faceplanted, and this guy just happened to catch the whole scene on camera. Axel smiled at his dog--despite his last confession, he really did love the guy.Ā āYouāre right, youāre right. I just sometimes wonder if heās doing things on purpose to keep me guessing and wondering if Iām fit to be a dog dad. Heās well taken care of, donāt get me wrong, but heās only a year old and itās like heās in his rebellious teenage phase where I just donāt know whatās gonna happen next. But! A lot of people talk to me about him and I love that because I love people. People are great. Dogs might be better, though.ā He looked off as if he were actually thinking pretty deeply about the topic before shaking his head and clearing his throat,Ā āAnyway-- I think itād be pretty interesting to see that picture if you ever decide to do anything about it. Iām always up for making fun of myself. I kind of have to if I plan on surviving with the luck I have.ā

Ā Ā Ā itās a bit CLICHE to do evening photography but jacob embraces the challenge of finding something NEW to catch on film in the low-lights of another summer setting sun. heās just quickly framed the perfect shot in his head when he lifts lens to his eye and too many things happen at once. the faceless runner in his photo becomes a bit more dynamic than expected, limbs coming to an unfortunate collision with the ground as jacobās finger presses the shutter. camera lowers from eye-level, one hand gripping the casing gently with the worn leather strap wrapped around his wrist for assurance, the other reaching down to pat the dog obviously quite PROUD of its participation in its masterās impromptu photoshoot.Ā ā youāre fine. ā says jacob, straightening as the other pulls the dog away. ā but i gotta say, i am CURIOUS to see how that one will developā ā he lifts the camera in way of explanation, fingers tapping the plastic shell of the lens. mouth quirks in a friendly, albeit amused smile. ā right place, right time āsuppose more like wrong place, wrong time for you though. ā
Axel cocked an eyebrow at the man, then quickly realized what he meant byĀ ādevelopā when he noticed the camera in his hand. He was embarrassed to see it took him a few minutes to really understand what he meant: that he had gotten a picture of the fall, and this only made him go redder.Ā āWell-- I canāt say I want a copy, but if it ends up making a billion people laugh on Facebook or some other photo site that people share things that make them laugh, then Iāll definitely own up as the muse for it.ā He laughed nervously and scratched at the back of his neck, wondering if he was covered in scrapes on his legs but he was much too embarrassed to even look. However, when he mentioned wrong place, wrong time, he couldnāt help but laugh.Ā āThatās kind of the story of my life, but you know. I still like to look at the brighter side of things. It would help me out a lot if my dog wasnāt absolutely out to get me everyday, all the time, always.āĀ

moments like these were peaceful for the young artist ā sat up against a tree, sketching the park to give himself something to work with. it had reminded him a lot of A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, and he was curious if he could ever pull off a pointillist technique. perhaps heād talk to noah about that, considering he was his biggest inspiration. he had been lost in his thoughts until a wet nose had taken interested in the bag of pretzels he had next to him. it was pretty quick that the owner followed, and angel easily waved off the inconvenience. he hadnāt even noticed the fall, and the dog was just an added bonus to his being in the park. āi think you look plenty a like. itās in the eyes. and his fur softness clearly comes from you too.ā he jokes in response.Ā ābut really, itās no big deal. i love dogs and he was hardly a bother. though iām upset i donāt have any treats for him. just pretzels. can dogs eat pretzels ? iām willing to share if they can but i donāt have a dog so i donāt know anything about ⦠what dogs can eat. maybe i should know because what if he canāt have them and accidentally ate them ? thatād be awful.ā he realizes heās rambling, clearing his throat.Ā āanyway, no worries, i promise. it was nice to say hi and i needed a break anyway.ā
Axelās face was burning red from the fall, but after frantically looking around himself, he couldnāt see anyone that may have noticed. Or maybe they had and they were just being nice enough not to laugh at his misfortune. He wouldnāt have minded the laughing, because he probably would have laughed as well, but it definitely only would have worsened the redness that flaked his cheeks. The boy stared at other on the bench in pure disbelief when he actually went along with his pathetic attempt at a joke, and soon enough that look of disbelief turned into one of excitement as he let out a laugh. Axel motioned up to his hair, āThis isnāt natural, though. I go through a bottle of conditioner a week. So does he, heās a lot more vain than he seems.ā He shook his head at the dog as if he were disappointed in him. He beamed at the stranger, finding comfort in the fact he wasnāt the only one rambling.Ā āOh, Jesus- No, yeah. I mean- He can eat most everything, heād love a pretzel. If you wanted to give him one, anyway. Heād eat a soup can if you left it out long enough. Not that Iāve tried to do that to the poor little guy, but heās a pig. Also like me.ā He laughed through his last sentence, knowing very well it was true.Ā āWhat are you doing, anyway? Are you drawing?ā He shook his head at himself,Ā āYou donāt even know me, you donāt have to answer that.ā He put his hand on his chest, then motioned to his dog immediately after,Ā āIām Axel, this is Ralphie the rude canine.ā
The air was turning a bit cooler and the sun was beginning to set as Axel made his way through downtown Marble with his running shoes tied tight and his feet hitting the side walk with little noise as he jogged next to Main Street. He had his usual running partner, his golden retriever Ralphie, sprinting by his side with a grin-like expression on his face. Suddenly, however, Ralphie turned a sharp left, right in front of Axelās feet. The dogās bright red leash wrapped around the lanky boyās feet and he was immediately eye-level with the ground. With a groan, Axel lifted himself up to see where his dog had run off to, sighing loudly when he saw the yellow-haired heathen sitting at the feet of someone, clearly wanting whatever was in their hand. The brunet ran over and grabbed the dogās leash and gently tugged him away from the individual,Ā āJesus- Iām so sorry. Heās just a curious guy.ā Axelās cheeks were bright red from embarrassment--both from falling and from his mischievous dog.Ā āA lot like his dad. By dad I mean me. I mean, I didnāt birth him-- You knew that.ā He laughed awkwardly,Ā āI mean, we donāt even look anything alike!ā It was obvious he was just nervously yammering on at this point.Ā
was that DYLAN O'BRIEN walking around town ? oh, no ! that was just AXEL STUART, a TWENTY-THREE year old LIBRA. i heard he is currently A STUDENT/GROCERY CLERK and has lived in marble for ONE YEAR. something i noticed is that he can be ANXIOUS but also FRIENDLY and PUPPIES, SUNSHINE, AND BRIGHT SMILES always remind(s) me of him.
āAnd I know, oh no, Youāve fallen from the sun, Crashing through the clouds. I see you burning out. And I know, oh no, that I put up a front But maybe just this once, let me keep this one. Yeah, itās all alright. I guess itās all alright. I got nothing left inside of my chestā
