Angie Gray Curates International Group Exhibition at Kaimari Estudio
Opening February 21 at Kaimari Estudio, Malasaña,Madrid
On February 21, a compelling new group exhibition opens at Kaimari Estudio, the studio gallery of artist Paula Kaimari. Curated by California-based artist Angie Gray, who divides her time between the United States and Spain, the exhibition brings together a dynamic and diverse group of contemporary artists whose practices span painting, sculpture, mixed media, and conceptual experimentation.
This latest curatorial effort by Gray reflects her ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue between international voices and Madrid’s vibrant creative community. With a transatlantic sensibility, she assembles artists whose work challenges formal boundaries while remaining deeply personal and culturally resonant.
The exhibition features works by:
Leo Peralta – Known for an expressive visual language, Peralta explores materiality and gesture, balancing raw immediacy and humor with structural precision.
Martin Sampedro – Sampedro’s photography navigates between abstraction and figuration, constructing provocative, layered compositions that invite sustained contemplation.
Manolo Campoamor – A multidisciplinary artist and exceptional draftsman, Campoamor demonstrates remarkable command of line and form. His practice bridges disciplines while maintaining a strong foundation in drawing, where his technical precision becomes a defining strength.
Paco Clavel – A multidisciplinary creative force, Clavel brings a bold, performative sensibility to his visual work, blending pop irreverence with sharp cultural commentary.
Lara Lars – Lars works through subtle tonal shifts and conceptual layering, creating pieces that hover between introspection and narrative suggestion.
Juan Sanchez- Sanchez ample knowledge in cinematography informs his provocative collages in the most traditional Richard Hamilton style
Manuel Cruz – A powerful representative of present day Pop Art. Cruz reinterprets the visual language of popular culture through a contemporary lens, infusing his work with immediacy, irony, and visual impact.
Samu Adiala – A Brazilian artist whose work carries strong native influences, Adiala stands as a definitive representative of contemporary street art. His renditions merge urban energy with cultural heritage, creating visually striking works rooted in identity and movement.
Rocha – Working with distilled forms and evocative contrasts, Rocha constructs compositions that balance restraint with emotional depth.
The exhibition will take place at Kaimari Estudio, founded by participating artist Paula Kaimari. As both host and exhibitor, Kaimari reinforces the collaborative spirit of the project, positioning the gallery as a space for experimentation, exchange, and artistic dialogue.
This intimate yet ambitious exhibition signals the emergence of a vibrant new platform within Madrid’s independent gallery scene — one rooted in cross-cultural exchange, artist-led initiatives, and the evolving language of contemporary art.
