Ok everyone complaining about their future breedings not being by a site artist anymore, that's literally the point. Unless you were a BIG tipper, the artist got paid next to nothing. How would you feel if there was some expensive perk customers at your workplace got and then your pay was rendered in fractions of what you regularly got paid? You'd probably fricking quit. No solution is ever going to satisfy everyone who got those ridiculous perks that should never have existed in the first place. The staff team that is in control now didn't make the decision to add those damn pendants, the previous staff did. There are a lot of garbage things past staff did to ruin the economy before they jumped ship. Your anger towards staff now is not justified. They tried to fix an UNFIXABLE problem. Y'all already got thousands of GP worth out of the pendants, quit whining. Those pendants were literally strangling the site and tons of artists and players alike left because of the BS those things caused in the official art teams. I get that you spent a lot of time, GP and potentially USD to get unlimited breedings or unlimited income with those breedings, but holy hell you must have known that is ridiculous and would eventually need to be gotten rid of. Whatever you got out of it, you got more than enough.

Don't blame site artists

The negativity about the recent breeding pendant changes being directed at site artists over how they had to go because the site needs to be able to pay artists and the pendants don't generate income? Yeah, it's a little BS. 

Your site artists rarely, other than a very few, get paid in anything but GP. And even on smaller lists for the lower paying coins? It doesn't take much to earn several hundred GP in a month just from that. 

The problem is that site artists want to be paid in money. Like any other artist. But Aywas doesn't do that other than very rare cases. The fact is several artists, myself included, don't work for the site anymore because getting paid several hundred GP every month for hours of work worth upwards of hundreds of dollars? We don't want to do it. 

Getting the backup fixed and selling coins for USD again is the only way to keep the site going and revive it. You think the userbase is fed up? The artists are tired of basically working for nothing. So pushing the userbase to buy USD items is the only way to get artists back and getting to the point where the site babies are good, come quickly, and not everything has to rely on the predict system just to hobble along.

The pendant news is upsetting for a lot of users, but those users telling everyone in the news comments that they "only ever came back to use my pendant" is making it even more obvious how much damage these things were doing to the system.

It makes sense that users are upset or sad, but it's proving the reason they needed removed in the first place. By telling others you don't actually play the site, just stack more and more work on the breeding artists for free. These items couldn't simply be removed because of the original transaction being in USD, so the next best thing is remove the ability to cost the site funds by making them user-only effort.

This isn't saying these items are worthless by any means. Simply selling the slots or the item itself can easily get you the investment back from the original payment to get these pendants. Many users have voiced excitement over the idea of possibly seeing pendants for sale now and hoping to save to afford one if not many.

This is the result of poorly planned choices, and every pet site makes them eventually. I appreciate the site staff for being able to make these tough decisions to better the lives of all of the artists.

Dear Reader

For anyone that stumbles upon this and if you have considered or recent joined Aywas I make a friendly suggestion for you to find another site. Especially if you are not an artist, for you will be looked down upon and shamed for being of the non artist variety. Some staff even admins will, not to subtlety, support this behavior openly. You are not welcomed on aywas and will be the escape goat to the sites problems. If you can not do art you have no value here, snide and conceding remarks will be aimmed in your direction.

You will be made to feel stupid for not being able to do art and that it is so easy anyone can do it. Your opinion will mean nothing here so if you are looking for a site to spend money on this isn't it, spend it somewhere you will not be treated as lesser for being a non artist. I don't know many sites out there but can suggest sites like Flight Rising or if you enjoy art I tentatively suggest Dappervolk. At the very least the Dappervolk staff have so far proven to listen to the majority of their userbase unlike Aywas staff the will likely manipulate a poll to suit their desires which will most likely burn any non artist with it's outcome.

Aren't we on a high horse

Users express disappointment over the change with pendants and that they are not an artist. Artist shames user for expressing how they feel and being unable to make predicts like such as thing is so easy. Juke a mod backs artist snide comments.

Hey just a thought staff, maybe ban or make aywas an artist site only if you are going to so transparently and opening support shaming of non artists?

art isn't free. Stop expecting art to be free. Someone has to pay for it, and if you don't, the artists will. And theyll find somewhere else to go.

You want actual artists who don't feel abused? you want ANY artists? You want artists that have talent to dedicate their time to the site? Then a) don't whine about not getting free art for free after you already got free art for free b) don't be shitty about art you got, don't make it soul-destroying  to go make art for people c) ask yourself: what is the cost of my free art? how long did it take for someone to make this art for me for free? did they get anything in return?

If you have a pendant, I'm guessing you've used it more than once before. You've gotten money's worth out of it. I know you're sad, but look at this from the pov of the artists and staff.

Why even allow a vote?

Seriously does anyone else wonder why the staff allowed us to vote at all when it is clear with how they split the extended regeneration time vs. predict only, that it was rigged to favor predict only from the start? Next staff when you want a certain result lets not pretend you're letting people vote, just tell us what you are going to do. Rather than acting like the userbase can have a fair voice in the matter because we all know that percentage of the people not wishing for predict only, won that vote by over a 100 votes.

Staff mocks users

Staff has gone way downhill, I am ashamed to be in an staff chats or even on servers with staff off-site. The level of mocking, and name calling of users is beyond venting and moving to "personal grunge" in how people act. Yes it is a thankless job, but being allowed to call users "dumb shits" "Dunders", and otherwise mocking how users talk or the fact they ask questions in discord. Is out of hand, and honestly starts to be said in other areas where users can see the behavior and paints staff as rude and unapproachable.

Breedings Vent

I have barely bred any pets on Aywas with the higher-tier coins. I remember buying my first Blind Date, which at the time was worth like 90 GP, but I bought it with USD instead. The baby that came out of that coin was so low-quality art-wise that I'd be lucky to even get half the value of the coin in GP for selling that baby. Why are some artists that don't understand anatomy on high-tier coins like that? It is a waste of money... Babies seem to never hold their value on this site? Always a loss unless you go out of your way and commission an artist. I'm not against all of the artists or anything, but some of them just DON'T belong on those high-tier coins if this is their output.

IDK if this is a good place to post this but anyone know of any pet sites that are thriving? Besides flight rising, it's a good game but somehow I could never get into it. I will continue to play Aywas and do my best to revitalize it but I really miss the active, exciting vibe. It seems like most pet sites have slowed down a TON now that they're less trendy.

I feel that this Mayday, although low in artists and sets, can be chalked up as a success. Majority of exotics were claimed day 1, with just about 30 total pets left at roll over for day 2. There being so little pushed a bit of a need to purchase sooner than wait around til later days. 

Maybe less sets is the answer. It creates an exclusivity that the exotic sales have loss sense of, and creates a panick to rush to get one as theres so few. Its also more beneficial for artists in that making sets will give reward.

Congratulations to all artists on their sets and sell outs. And good job Aywas for not cancelling it amid COVID-19 and giving some hope back to users. 

I look forward to a successful PPP. Lets clear out those queues!

I can understand a a lot of the diversity being gone from the mayday pool, especially when you consider that they've decided not every artist they accept sets from can opt into the cash option for payment anymore.

y’all won’t wanna hear this but the reason staff hasn’t gotten rid of breeding pendants is because a lot of them own pendants.

Is it just me, or are the event exotics a little... lacking in diversity this Mayday? This is absolutely nothing against the artists; they all submitted gorgeous sets, I just find it really strange how 90% of all the sets look so similar to one another when previous sale events would show such a vast variety of ideas.
