Late. She was late. She was late for her first day at work for the internship. It was true that her schooling was paid for by her scholarship funds but all of that money headed to school and Noel needed money for other essentials. Biting down her lip, Noel hasten her running, boots clicked behind her as she zoomed between people as she ran towards her destination. 

“Aaahhh, I can’t believe this! I set my alarm clock eight times, how did I sleep through it all!” The logic of a female body is a mysterious one. Still running, Noel’s blonde hair sway against her back as she sputtered out apologies here and there to people that she might or have accidentally bumped into. 

Finally, the police station was insight and her pace began to slow down. It was her first day, she didn’t want to just barged in as usual plus...she had to make an proper appearance. Breathing heavily, Noel adjusted her clothes and fixed her hair before she finally entered the building. Heading towards the front desk, Noel nervously spoke up. 

“H-Hello..I’m Noel Vermillion, I’m supposed to start my first day of work today...um...”  It was obvious to see that Noel was out of breath with how she was still trying to calm her breathing. Fiddling with her fingers, Noel waited for a reply. 

Aaaahh...I really messed up.

hazama felt uplifted by a brief surge of humor that lightened his mood considerably, allowing the intelligence officer to approach the situation with a bit of zest. eyes that seemed to never open allowed a brief flash of the amber irises that often gleamed with evil intent, only to lower and gaze upon the blonde’s form with a look that spelled trouble. a tongue that weaved wicked words and horrible truths began to formulate a string of a lazy sentence, intent on showing the woman just how little she mattered now.

“ ‘Fraid not~! You see, treason is a capital offense, I’m afraid, and I’m a man who is prone to his duties. I’m sorry to say, “ he began, the lips curling into a cruel grin that informed her that he didn’t even believe his own words. Just an excuse. “ But, I’ll have to enact some form of punishment. “

a chuckle escaped the monster clad in black, half gloved digits slipping into the confines of his pockets once more, only to allow them to loosely wrap around the cold steel within. every time that he returned to the hive, the scientists bestowed a fragment of his power and the knives he had reclaimed. in the past, he hadn’t found much use for the knives alone, but now, as he took in the sight of the frightened girl, a sadistic glee filled him up on the inside! truly, he was free from the confines and limitations of that sickening world of liars, meaning that he did not need the life link.

upper appendage shifted from his side, aiming to block the bobblehead from moving past him and into the street. he glanced over his shoulder, visage filled with the hilarity of the moment. oh, he could just break down and laugh right now, but he wanted to ensure she felt the most despair an individual possibly could.

and so, he spoke up again, his tone condescending and lacking authority — as if to mock her. “ Where do you think you’re going? I didn’t dismiss you. “

Prone of his duties, what a lie. Beside the NOL wasn't even here, his words and threats were meaningless to the girl as she shook her head and continued to walk away from him. The faster she leaves, the better her life would still be in tact. Who knows what tricks this man has up his sleeve, she doesn't even understand him half the times. He was impossible to read, even with the life link between them before, she would never understand his thoughts.

His intentions were easy to read, but what he was thinking was something she never wanted to learn. "..." Heaving another sigh, the former Lieutenant continued to walk forward, ignoring the snake that was attempting to rile her up. She already know his tricks, there was no way he could control her that easily. After all, she already chose to be Noel Vermillion, not some puppet controlled by him. 

Though his stare was still just as awful as well as his tone of voice that stopped her in her place. Wh-What? Was Noel still afraid of him? It would be to lie to say that she wasn't afraid, after all, Hazama was still a frightening individual that know show to push her buttons well. 

"I..I don't need your permission to get out of here." Noel rebuttal quickly towards the former Captain. Yet she couldn't move forward anymore, turning back to face the green hair monster, Noel continued to frown at him. She had nothing but a pair of bb guns, absolutely useless against him, but they were better than nothing she supposed. 

"...I don't know what you're planning but I will take none of it."

     It was kind of funny how Noel had picked out the Just Desserts Cafe where Morgan had actually worked! Or was working at. Regardless, to say that he was excited truly downplayed how he felt. Ever since he had heard of Noel speak of Kagutsuchi, he had been so curious as to how the magic worked there and how the buildings were—learning about new worlds was one thing, but this one? It sounded incredible!

     Having already seated himself and having picked up two slices of cake and some tea for the two of them to discuss over, he’d see the officer approach him as he quickly stood up and waved his hand at her, a smile beaming on his face. 

" Nonsense! To be able to learn about new worlds and how they operate, I don’t mind how far I have to go to learn more about them! Besides, this place is actually quite convenient. I work here, cleaning up after others so I knew the directions right away. " 

     Once Noel seated herself, Morgan’s eyes seemed to glow brightly at seeing her notes all about Kagutsuchi as he looked down at them, trying to hold in his excitement. 

" Alright.. what do I ask about first..?! I have so many questions I feel as if I don’t answer them now, my entire body will just explode in a storm of them! Perhaps lets start off with the most important ones, just tell me as much as you can about how the mountains float and the magic that they use! "

"PLEASE DON'T EXPLODE!"

Noel took that exaggeration to heart. One can never be too careful around people these days. Yes, never too careful. Noel has seen some crazy shit so she wouldnt' be surprised to see people exploding out of thin air, even if they are still human.

Well since Morgan settled down, it put Noel's mental state at ease. She was used to hyperactive people, but in terms of teaching, she'll do her best, even though her notes were pretty much everywhere. It was really going to be hard to explain this to people but Noel will just have to do her best.

"Well..."

"It's not quite magic. It's something similar to it. We use something called Grimories that help keep the city afloat." No, it was better to first explain the basis of the world that Noel lives in. "In my world, there's only...two people that can use magic, so the everyday 'magic' that we used is called Ars Magus. In order to use Ars Magus we use something called 'seither' that's in the air. Um..." Flipping through her books, Noel was trying to find her notes about seither. 

"Oh! Seither is a dangerous particle that came from the Black Beast that destroyed half of the human population one hundred years ago in my world! Um..um...does that help, Morgan?"
