The Basic Concept of Digital Marketing for pure starters.
Before taking baby steps in the world of digital marketing I too had this question in my mind. Despite being an avid user of social media I never really put much thought into the business side of these platforms until i started noticing the popularity and the outburst of opportunities in digital marketing.
This post is written to give beginners a basic understanding of the roles of a digital marketer. So without further ado, lets start!
lets imagine a person named John Smith owns a sports equipment and merchandise store in California. His financial returns are average and has a fair amount regular customers. Now, John wants to increase his profits and customers and has decided to market his business on the internet so that more people who are interested in sports are informed about his business and additionally he aims to sell his products not only physically from his store but also through the internet via social media. What should john do know? Simple. He hires a digital marketer who will take the responsibility of marketing Johns business on social media.
At this stage Mr. Digital Marketer will understand what John desires from his business, which is the first step. Listening.
The next step after fully studying and understanding John's requirements is to Create content. Content that can be social media posts, Google ads, Videos, pictures, blogs and anything that creates engagement with the audience. its through these content that the targeted audience will be informed about Johns store, its products, prices and other necessary information.
After the creation process its time to Propagate the content across various platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit etc. As a result John should see an increase in sales due to the extensive marketing and audience engagement.

Propagate
