you quietly follow your boyfriend back to his dorm room

admittedly, you were a tad bit nervous

he had asked you to come over to his room earlier this week, and you’ve been putting it off by claiming you were busy

but eventually you couldn’t lie anymore and had to come over

you were NERVOUS bc it was your first time going to his dorm room

when you two reached his door, Ushijima paused

“are you okay? you seem nervous” he asked

you gave him a timid thumbs up, “no yeah I’m fine”

he nodded, “good, I wanted to show you something very special to me”

when he opened his door and allowed you to go in first you took a look around and was confused

it literally looked like a normal room

you turn to him, “babe I thought you wanted to show me something??”

he stared at you and nodded, “yes, my plants” and he gestured to the several potted plants scattered around his room

he guides you to each of his plants and explains each one in detail, telling you the type of plant it is, where he got it from, and how long he’s had it

when he's talking about the last plant, you can’t help but gaze at him and smile. he's so adorable talking about his plants you could listen forever

he pauses to turn and face you, “Y/n,” he says, which snaps you out of your daze, “you aren't looking at the leaves”

you bite back a smile to look at his plant to appease him

when he finishes, he looks quite proud of how beautiful his plants are and you wrap your arms around his waist and pull him in for a hug

“you’re so cute Toshi” you coo

he blinks at you in confusion, unsure of what he did for you to suddenly compliment him like that

“oh, I almost forgot” he says, walking over to his desk

before you’re able to ask, he turns back around and hands you a cute jar filled with water and a leaf cutting in it

“it’s a propagated pothos. I cut it from my plant so you could start growing one yourself.” he says

okay well now your heart had just combusted what the heck why is your boyfriend the absolute cutest without trying

you take the jar from his hands and smile at him

“ahhh I can’t wait for this to grow” you giggle, looking at the plant closely

but then, Ushijima’s face turns serious for a second

“please take good care of it. once I gave one to Tendou... and he killed it”
