I was lucky enough to go and see Alec Soth’s first major UK show in Bradford last weekend. The show presented four of his signature works, under the accumulative title ‘Gathered Leaves’. The lucky part came when the Curator, who worked alongside Soth during these works, from The Science Museum, London spoke about the show, individual photographs, Soth’s ideas and journeys. His images are beautiful, poetic and dreamy.
Make shift drying set-up for fibre-based prints!
Lots of darkroom magic leading up to my exhibition in May!
April 2015 - A new era twist on the classic female nude, highlighting the electricity within femininity. Shot on Nikon D7000
These are some shots from an abstract portraiture experiment I did back in 2015, the negatives from this series ended up bleached, burned & twisted. I was exploring typography and the work of August Sanders. Human nature and language will forever fascinate me and inspire my photography. Shot using a Fujifilm GF670, using the daylight studio to make the most of the beautiful natural light there was that afternoon.
The Shower (November 2015) Shot on Fujifilm GF670, using medium format HP5
Where are you doing your teaching training?
I’m seriously considering Birmingham :)
A small series shot in late Autumn 2015, surround the concept of loneliness. Shot on HP5 Medium format using at Fujifilm GF670.
what do you do as a living?
For a living ? I'm a chef but I'm in the midst of teacher training :)
...sometimes art is not beautiful, and sometimes it's challenging, and sometimes it's even offensive, and yet it can be art, even if it's all those things

A project against electronic waste. Shot on Nikon D7000
You could compare it to the pas de deux in ballet. The total image is made out of two bodies; you cant separate them. For me, that is photography of architecture: one final new shape is made out of the interaction between camera and building.
