So we got this official trading card and everyone is freaking out over it because WE FINALLY GOT THE DAMN PHOTO!
But me being me, as I was staring at the trading card art, came to a realization... as one does at 12 AM.
You know, color cameras not only existed in the 1950s, it was invented all the way back in 1861, but it wasn't really an option for 99% of the population until 1935, and it wasn't really being used very often until the 50s, and wasn't the standard until the 70s. Alastor is said to dislike all technology past his death at 1933, (which fun fact is actually a trait he shares with Sir Pentious)
And something to remember is Vox ended up dying with a very, very early model color TV landing on him, so ironically enough, he actually never had a B&W TV head in the afterlife.
I was very sad when I realized this, too, but I'll keep that as a headcannon at least! Maybe he was able to interchange from B&W to color because that's how this TV monitor worked on Earth
And just before you can see he has a paper on the corkboard that says, "Color TV is the future!" So the fact he had a color TV here, at a time where it being mainstream was just not a thing yet, it makes sense.
I actually had to google what the iditom below meant, and idk how to phrase it what it exactly means, but what you need to know is it's basically Vox shitting on people who either doubt, don't beileve, or mock the idea that Color TV will be the future, which is a really cool trait to see of his, since Vox has held these beilefs from, at the very least, months before his death.
So I'm almost certain that Vox would've wanted this photo to be in color, as they absolutely could afford it no problem as Overlords. (Also it's hell, so magical demon powers exist lol)
So with that added context, if you really think about this, not only was Alastor willing to take a photo with Vox because they were close enough for him to put his reservations aside, maybe even wanting to do so, but Vox was likely willing to have the photo be in black and white, just to fit Alastor's old fashioned preferences, in return.
They mutually kept each other in mind.
God, They were once really close and it's so sad they ended up torn apart.
