Today's Bathory official IG page posted something interesting
As you can appreciate, this post shows a young Pelle (spoiler, it's not, the mysterious Twink is Daniel Hojas from tribulation). The curious thing is, effectively, there exists a pic of Pelle and Quorthon together, even a video recorded in the iconic 87s night in heavy sound. But the point is why post a pic talking about Pelle, knowing the open, open, OPEN hate that he demonstrates towards Quorthon. Or Quorthon's indifference due to the fact that he affirmed doesn't know Dead, black metal (to later retract this information), swedish extreme metal scene, or anything.
And at this point we have to start to talk about the myth, the legend and the reality, and yeah, if you have been walking through this basement hell called Norwegian black metal for a while, you should already hear tones of hoaxes like: "Øystein killed Pelle for having a hair prettier than him", or "Pelle develop the ability to flirt with women, and he was talking with one in the Turkey's concert". Anyway, in my eyes, the most interesting one is the Bathory fan who cut the name "Bathory" in all his body, and, even though, we cannot assume the identity of this mysterious fan, these characteristics just ring us the bell of the most iconic unstable metal lord: Dead. It's not a secret that morbid's vocalist was a fan before calling Quorthon a poser wimp after that night. But what really happened?
Idk lol, I don't know these suckers in real life, but, the documentation is interesting at least.
We can start the premise of a party with Bathory members totally drunk, having a good time with their fans, and when the first (knowing) contact between these two. In Dr Schitz word's
"The pictures of Dead and Bathory were in connection with a record signing they were having. They actually ended up getting along pretty fine. Dead and I were invited the following monday to Elektra, where Boss worked. He wasn't there, apparently a bullshit trip. BUT we left a bag with our demo and a crucified mouse on a cross in the fancy reception. When we later called to check out what he thought about the tape, he freaked out and told us that we were the sickest people he'd ever met! We laughed so hard that we almost cried! That's the closest we ever came to a record deal, I guess..."

That interaction reveals us 2 important things:
1. Quorthon liked morbid boys enough to invite them to meet him and his daddy next day.
2. During the night something happened that created the bad blood towards the artists.
Another important quotation from slayer magazine reveals that
"Quorthon...was very impressed by Dead's own Bathory drawing on the back of his jacket and asked him to come down to the record company the following monday to have it photographed"
But this cordial meeting was interrupted for the hamster accident, even though Quorthon affirmed didn't know anything about Dead, and the hamster, he affirmed in morbid magazine just one year later didn't know about this accident, just replaying a "No?" To the question: "I understand you know Pelle 'Dead' of Mayhem?"
And maybe this bad blood was a response to Pelle's deception, knowing that his idol was not real evil, or satanic at all, drive him into a furious state where he responded with a later and a crucified hamster (which he continue confusing with a guinea pig for some reason lol)
"-The image of Quorthon split for many that day, says Nisse. He [Quorthon] came walking in sunglasses, leather jacket with a lot of metal stuff that was hanging on him. He looked too much like a rock star. Someone took a card, then he made a thumbs up. What is this? He was not bad enough! -He was like Yngwie Malmsteen says Rille. -Pelle was very disappointed, continues Nisse. He turned his attention to Norway and Mayhem pretty fast. They became the new evil gods who replaced Bathory. The disappointment of Quorthon lead to Pelle's decision to send him a letter." - "Blod Eld Död"
This deception was shown in Pelle's draws, the first one showing pride in his special gift for Quorthon and his daddy, probably a present who drove both a serious conversation, and probably pushed Quorthon to distance himself from the extreme swedish/Norwegian metal scene.
And the second and more curious one, shows Quorthon on heavy sound, and Bathory's goat drooling lasciviously and claiming that he feels horny. And beside the obvious joke of Quorthon being a poser or wimp, the sexual implication is curious, knowing that the public was full of male fans, just a too elaborate way to call Quorthon a faggot.
The history is still incomplete, we can intuit that they know each other, but we're talking with two people with an immense ego, and proud enough to spread their versions.
Quorthon, proud and pragmatic, preferred to belittle others, maintaining his superior status, feeling too good to even know the crazy antics of a brat in clown makeup; while Dead, always histrionic and vocal, didn't hesitate to talk shit about his rival, point the things that he considered hypocrisy or defects in his personality.
Anyway, this ig post just shows that even in the dead, you can still have beef, it seems like Quorthon's ghost possessed someone to confuse Pelle with someone else, denying him even his face in an apparently friendly post, a diva behavior well-known from this legend, specially when the next photo talks for itself.
