General explanation of this AU
after the death of the Bigger bodies, something went wrong. The Red smoke began to infect the smiling critters, changing them and giving them a desire to spread
The Playcare fell first, and the smiling critters quickly went after the frowning critters, infecting most and Floppity Loppity going missing.
Catnap, Catfiene, and DepressedDay managed to escape, but now the infected are closing in on the Nightmare critters.
The Daydream critters live in their own self made paradise run my Mango Tango. They live in their own world and refuse to consider anything could possibly be wrong

General rundown for this AU
PLOT
The main diverging point in this AU is instead of kicking Harley out of the young geniuses program, Elliot adopted him and taught him morals (same level of snark, but significant more caring for the children)
Harley and Leith met much earlier, and started dating. This ended HORRIBLY for both of them, and caused Leith to take the path Harley originally did.
Leith is jealous of what Snow and Harley have, and tries to ruin them from the inside out

How do they solve this? By doing what they do with everything else, climbing into his back and sitting on it
He struggled to move before nuzzling Babba gently purring in his sleep
Very confused, Baba snuggled more into the large cat
“That… worked.”
She whispered in disbelief
He nuzzled safe "mmm sorry" he mumbles feeling warm
“Sorry… for what?”
"everyone's splintered cuz of me ..." He whines "if I'd just .....never listened or just stayed in the daycare I I " a cough and a sob is heard
Baba snuggled into his fur, laying her head onto Theo’s head
“You can’t fix the past, whatever happened was them. You’re you now”
"Baba....thank you so much" he nuzzled her purring lovingly
“You’re… welcome…???”
No one had ever thanked her before… but it made her feel all bubbly inside
"what....what if the prototype tries to come for me again?"
“Again??? He came after you before… and SURVIVED??? that takes guts. I bet you could just fight him back into the darkness!”
She does a punching motion with her hooves for extra effect
He blushes adorabley embarrassed before yawning "......I ....I don't know what to do...I..I..I feel used..."
“Used? By who?”
She stares in concern
..."prototype....... Tried to get me to escape playcare....my grabpack ...blew up I think ...i-i..I was awake for the entire procedure....drills blades gloves goes blood....saws.... "

She bleated in horror as the realization set in

He looks away from her in Shame... "I..I..I lead hour of joy I..I was so tired so angry so ...so still hurting
“I…I remember that… you were so angry at Yarnaby for not wanting to kill…”
"... I'm horrible... I'm as bad as them!" He whimpers trying to get up only to cough and wheeze that stupid red smoke...."ughh " he wasn't Inna fit state to go and mope
“You aren’t going anywhere big boy!!!”
Baba shoves his head back down, forcing him to stay laying down
“You can’t run away from your problems like that! Especially in this state!”
Theo visibly.... flinched "I'm sorry I'm sorry" his breathing quickened
Baba chops stops for a moment
Awe fuck I traumatized him
“I’m… I’m sorry… that was on me… here”
She wraps her arms around Theo’s head in a gentle hug
He nuzzled her gently "....you don't have to pretend to care.... it's okay....I..I know after all this.... I'm going to hell"
“By whose rules? You were a child forced into a horrible situation. If there is a god, he’ll have to fight me first!”
"my chest hurrrts" he snuggled into her wool whimpering
“You probably caught a cold laying out here…”
She looked around in confusion
“Where… is everyone?”
"no ... it's the smoke ... it's an internal thing..." He points to his chest as Theo looked around "Cody's out hunting.... Orhers don't want to be near me"
“Hmm… I guess that’s true.”
She headbutts Theo gently
“Being the chosen one really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be… but I guess it’s better than being stranded…”
"mhm" the cat nodded softly...."do you know your name or no?" Theo asked concerned for their sheep companion
“I… hmm… I haven’t thought about in YEARS…”
She thought about it for a long time
"you've been staring at the wall for three hours" he teased her playfully
“The only name I remember was Maggie…”
She seemed lost in thought, and didn’t seem to acknowledge Theo’s words
"i-i like Maggie it's really pretty" he nuzzled her gently purring happily
“Honestly? I’m keeping it. It’s so much more exciting than ‘baba chops’. Ugh, whoever came up with that, I’m going to head butt them some day!”
She looked down at Theo and smiled
The cat giggles softly before offering his paw gently "Theodore grambell pleased to meetcha again" he teased her
