“Why, that quiet little boy over there? We found him wandering around in such a new place. He is full of wonders - his eyes always seemed like they’re glowing - as if he was a magical child.” ———— Child!England // Hetalia : Axis Powers

Ah, finally finished this! It was fun <3 I haven’t done anything England related in a long time, and painting little boy England was definitely worth the adorableness!!

[ She thoroughly enjoyed watching the boy. She also enjoyed the tingling feeling that lingered in her fingertips; it a feeling she had long forgotten to miss. She leaned forward again, smiling at him. ]
Would you like me to teach you how to do a few tricks? I know you have the ability; the big you uses magick all the time.
//He shakes his head, again nearly dislodging the faerie nestled in his hair - he realises this time, however, and reaches up to cup her in his hands instead. She's woken by the movement, and in seeing the flower, hovers over to it, circling and inspecting the plant, seemingly impressed. Arthur curls up, hugging his knees to his chest, and shakes his head again.
No, no, I can't. Only the faeries do magick.
[ She places her hand on the ground in front of her. She took a deep breath and, calling back the magick she had when she was younger, murmured an almost-forgotten spell. There was a greenish glow from under her hand, and her hair danced in a breeze that seemed to come from no where. After a moment she pulled her hand away, tired but satisfied. A blood-red rose shot upwards and bloomed from the ground in front of them. She had forgotten how much energy it took and leaned back with a sigh. ]
Do you like it?
//He watches, totally mesmerised as the flower rises out of the ground from nowhere and grows, beautiful in its perfection and the bright red colour of the petals almost out of place in this brown and green clearing. He lets out a joyous laugh and claps his hands, shuffling closer to look at the rose.
I do! I like it a lot! That was so good!
//He tentatively reaches out to touch a petal, as though unsure it isn't simply an illusion, and the confirmation that it is indeed a tangible flower brings forth another laugh - he gestures for the faeries to come and see, because at the moment, the notion that someone other than the fae could do magick was amazing to him.
//Lars’ eyebrows raise significantly as the smaller nation draws his bow. It looks absolutely primitive (as does the rest of his clothing, though that’s not the point); however, the dutchman had no real room to speak on the matter. These weren’t exactly the days of old when he had worn armor all over the place. Though it probably wouldn’t do much damage with how small it was, it could still possibly deal a rather annoying blow.
Lars. The Netherlands. Ring any bells?
//The bow is stronger than it looks, a longbow made by himself with the help of the fae, so some magic infused inside the wood keeps it strong and shoots arrows fast. His thick eyebrows furrow, glaring distrustfully at Lars, pulling the string slightly tighter in an unspoken threat to let the arrow loose.
You are no one I have met before.
Why are you here? What do you want?
//He is scared, but his voice only slightly wavers as it rises in volume, only just about noticeable if one were concentrating - if this man has the same intentions as the soldiers, Arthur will have no qualms about shooting him.
[ she nods ]
Oh yes. I used to be able to do all kinds when I was younger. But no, I am not a faerie. I am a nation like you will be someday.
[ she moves the faerie in her hand to her shoulder and leans close to him. ]
Would you like to see me cast a spell to make a flower grow?
//He stares up at her in awe, nodding slowly at her offer. Magick! Real magick, not by a faerie! He's excited and intrigued, watching Alice closely.
