You and Jai are sitting outside at the table by the pool, enjoying the nice weather. You’re flipping through a magazine, and Jai has been busy on his phone for the past few minutes. You come across an interesting article in the magazine and you start telling Jai about it, only to realize that he’s not even paying any attention to you. “Hello, Jai?” you say.
"Huh?" he says, finally looking up from his phone.
"Were you listening to anything I was saying at all?" you ask.
"Yeah, babe." Jai says, although you know he wasn’t.
"What was I talking about, then?" you ask.
"You were talking about…" Jai begins to say, but he doesn’t even finish his sentence before he’s immediately distracted by his phone again. That’s it. You’re annoyed.
"Jai! You’re not even listening to me." you say. You grab his phone out of his hand. "You’ve been on your phone ever since we got out here. Who are you texting, anyway?" you say. Jai tries to take his phone back from you, but you move your hand away. You quickly take a look at the phone screen and see that he’s having a conversation with his ex girlfriend. You’re pissed. "Why are you talking to her?" you ask.
"She texted me first!" Jai says. You give him back his phone and then you head back inside the house, shutting the door loudly behind you. Jai follows you. "Babe." he says, but you ignore him. You go to the kitchen and toss your magazine on the counter. "She texted me first, and we were just catching up. You can even read our conversation if you want to." Jai says.
"No, Jai. I don’t wanna read your conversation with your ex." you say angrily, emphasizing the word ‘ex’.
"Come on, babe. Don’t be mad at me." Jai pleads.
"Yes, you are." Jai says.
"Honestly, Jai, I don’t even wanna talk about this. It’s a complete waste of my time." you say.
"I’ll never text her again, if that’s what you want." Jai says.
"Do whatever you want. I don’t even care." you say.
"But you’re mad at me." Jai says.
"Kiss me then, if you’re not mad at me."
"No! Why don’t you go ask your ex to kiss you?" you say.
"See? You are mad." Jai says. You cross your arms and turn away from Jai because he’s right. He steps up behind you and tries to put his arms around you, but you wriggle out of his grasp. He tries again, this time holding you tight so that you can’t get away. "Why are you jealous? It’s her that should be jealous." he says softly in your ear. "You’re my princess. She’s nothing." he says. Jai plants a long kiss on your cheek. You sigh. He knows exactly what to say and do to stop you from being mad at him. "Are you still mad at me?" Jai asks.
You turn around and face him. “No. But I don’t want you texting her.” you say.
"Yes, ma’am." Jai says. "Now if you’re not mad at me, kiss me."
You smile and give Jai a kiss on the cheek.
