summary : You're drunk; that was the only explanation you could offer when you found yourself making out with your brother's best friend.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
You shouldn't have agreed to drink with Doyeon.
When your best friend made the offer to pay for all your drinks with her newly acquired paycheck, you found it extremely hard to resist the temptation of free drinks, cracking under the pressure of her intense gaze and the idea of a break from all the studying you were putting yourself through for the past few weeks.
A little alcohol wouldn't hurt, you told yourself as you slipped into a cute outfit, one perfect for the club you were going to. Handling yourself like a professional in a pair of high heels, you and your best friend set out for your regular spot, a decent small time club just fifteen minutes away from your shared apartment.
When you asked the bartender for a drink stronger than your usual, she delivered. Giggling maniacally, you were dancing in sync with each other and yelling the lyrics of some mainstream pop song the dj was playing, the alcohol coursing through your veins and keeping you afloat in your heads in the colourful dim lighting and tight sweaty spacing of the club.
It was fun and stress relieving, you were enjoying yourselves so much โธบuntil you weren't.
Letting out a wretched gag, Doyeon's hand was on her mouth as she rushed to the dingy bathrooms before your slow brain could realise what was happening.
"Dodo," you slurred her nickname as you watched her hurl the contents of her stomach into the toilet bowl of the stall nearest to the door. The few girls standing by the mirrors paid no mind to your pair, chatting and giggling among themselves animatedly as if they were used to the scene - which, I mean, was quite common in a place with drunk people everywhere.
"There, there," You rubbed circles on her back while your other hand held her hair, cooing small words of comfort as much as your intoxicated brain could remember. You both stumbled your way back to the bar, your companion leaning on you while you tried your best to hold yourself steady.
Mina, the bartender you were friendly with, passed glasses of water to you and slid your purses along with as the two of you settled into empty stools.
"I think you should get going already," she flashes a worried smile. "Should I call someone for you?"
You slurred a negative response to her and fetched your phone from your bag, pushing Doyeon's face onto the top of the counter to stop her unnecessary movements. "It's ok, I already know who to call."
She nods and goes to another customer.
Tongue poking one side of your cheek, you squinted at the brightness of the device in your hands, searching for the particular contact number of your other friend who opted out of drinking in favour of having a marathon of some Netflix series she liked.
Interrupting her movie night would have you paying for her daily starbucks for a week or more as punishment but you didn't really care - Doyeon's modeling job was enough to afford it.
You pressed the call button and brought the phone to your ear, waiting patiently as it ringed for sometime.
CLICK. Your call was answered.
"Chae!!" You excitedly gushed. "Hey babe, guess what, Dodo and I, we uhh we kinda need your hel-help." Doyeon snickered and slowly raised her head, leaning onto your shoulder to hear the person at the end of the line.
"Babe?" You call out at the empty silence returned to you, your companion scrunching her brows in confusion as well; Chaeryeong would usually be lecturing the two of you by now.
A chuckle from the other line has you utterly confused; it was unmistakably a male's.
"Yes babe," He teased. "What do you need help with?"
You gasped at the familiar voice you were hearing. "Choi San?" The lines on your forehead grew harsher. "Why do you have my friend's phone?"
Many scenarios passed through your mind until Doyeon let out an ugly gasp. "They're together?!"
Your own eyes widened. "You are?!" You inquired to the person on the phone.
It was quiet before San let out his high pitched laugh, making you wince as you put a little more distance between your ear and the device in your hand.
"It's not funny," you shouted into your phone, the booming music of the building getting louder and making it harder to hear. "Why are you with Chae?!"
"I think," San let out little laughs in between his own words. "You should check again and see who you're calling, babe."
It took some time to understand what he was implying but when it did hit, you quickly took your phone away from your head and brought it in front of you, your companion curiously looking into the screen as well.
Choi San ๐ was the contact name glaring back at you as the realisation sinked in with Doyeon guffawing at your side.
Oh. You had called the wrong number.
"You're so stupid," Wooyoung chides as he enters your living room after having tucked your roommate in her bed. You ignore him, bringing your knees closer to your body with your forehead placed on top of them.
It was so warm in this position (Woo's leather jacket draped over your almost barren legs added to this), you could even drift off to sleep if you wanted but you couldn't because your mind was reeling at the thoughts of what happened just a few minutes back.
After realising that you had called the wrong person, you almost hung up but San stopped you, squeezing out your location before hanging up and arriving with your twin a few short minutes later.
Turns out they were going back home after spending the whole day at Yunho's whose place was quite near to the bar you were in and had rushed to your aid.
It was fortunate that you two young ladies wouldn't have had to walk home alone drunk but something irked you so bad โธบChoi San in his full black ensemble with no sleeves was too hot for your intoxicated brain to handle.
Admittedly, it wasn't the first time you found the annoying boy attractive - you had come to terms with the fact that he was extremely hot some time back with much hesitation - but the way he smirked at you cheekily when he reached out and placed your arm around his neck, wrapping his own inked one around your waist to hold you securely, had the dumb organ in your chest thundering loudly in your ears, pumping blood as if it was running a race.
Your twin brother made fun of your red face, berating you for your lack of control when drinking (you simply rolled your eyes at him - like he was one to talk) as he walked wth Doyeon on his back, followed closely by you and San.
The alcohol was ever present when you shivered as the Choi slightly tightened his hold on you, chuckling into your ear at your brother's corny jokes; the alcohol was also present when he lightly flexed his shoulders and arm to keep you steady and had you quietly whispering 'hot' before you could stop yourself - the amused quirk of his lips notifying you that he heard you.
"Go to bed," Wooyoung sighs, pushing you lightly and making his way into the kitchen. "Why were you even drinking this much?" He rummages through your cupboards for food, not even sparing you a glance.
You giggle, opening your eyes and stretching your legs. "Dodo got her paycheck today."
He rolled his eyes and grumbled something about women and safety but you weren't paying attention as a tall red haired boy walked out of the bathroom, plopping down next to you without any qualms.
Snapping yourself out of your daze, you fix him a glare and try to push him away from you, groaning at the failure of your mission when he didn't even move an inch.
You decided you needed to go to the gym more regularly, maybe you could go with with your brother and get that family discount at the one near your place.
"You're so strong," San coos at you, pinching your cheeks and smirking at the angry expression taking over your features.
God, he was insufferable, so insufferable that you found yourself wondering how it would feel to shut his mouth with your own on it but of course, you were drunk, you whispered in your mind, so you didn't actually want to kiss him, you just wanted to seal his mouth with the easiest method you could think of.
"Fuck," Wooyoung's loud swears pulls you out of your own head, head snapping to the direction of the kitchen he was rushing out of.
"Sannie, get her to bed, i left my wallet at Yunho's, have to pick it up."
In a flash your twin was gone out of the door, leaving you and your companion in silence at the couch.
"Come on," San starts, standing up and patting your shoulder. You look at him confused, your mind only registering the fact that your family member rushed out, his parting words hazy in your mind.
"What?" You sound stupidly as the tall male's eyes form crescents, a big smile making the presence of his dimples known.
"I almost forgot you were a dumb drunk." His voice was too near for your liking when his arms made their way under your knees and around your shoulders, lifting you up effortlessly as Wooyoung's jacket slid off and onto the floor.
"We need to get you to bed, babe." He teases as you automatically wrap your limps around his neck, relaxing as his scent fills your nose. You couldn't really name it but the smell was sweet, it entranced you.
"Did you just sniff me?"
You grow red at this and huff, vehemently denying the fact that yes, you just did in fact, sniff him. God, you really were a dumb drunk, weren't you?
Alcohol and Choi San weren't a good combination for you, they really weren't.
Setting you down carefully, your brother's best friend makes the effort to pull the covers over you, trying his best to cocoon you under your blanket as you push his hands away while sitting up.
The close proximity was harder on you than usual, a foreign adrenaline rushing through your veins at your mission in stopping whatever control his existence had on you โธบyou were failing miserably at it though.
"Stay still," his pout was evident in his tone of voice, brows scrunched up in annoyance. He sighs in relief when you halt your movements to admire his features.
God, he was so cute.
It was like he could read your mind when, in the next moment, the boy brings his face close to yours with a cheeky grin, nose barely touching yours.
"You've been staring quite a lot today, finally seeing my charms huh?"
His dialogue was cheesy and if it was any other time, you would have slapped his face away cringing, but you didn't.
It was the alcohol, you rationalised, when you let out a shaky breath, sight falling on his lips. "I've always like your face," your whisper is quiet but bold, causing a light blush to dust his cheeks as he lets out a cute noise of confusion.
Before you could let your own words settle into your brain, you had pushed yourself forward, mind blank as your flesh collided with his.
It was awkward in the first few seconds, you sitting there, eyes closed while he was frozen, chest not even moving. At his unresponsiveness, a sober thought passed through your mind; God, you messed things up didn't you?
It all happened too fast after that, as you hurriedly pulled back with frantic apologies escaping your throat, he took your head in between his hands and placed his own plump lips on yours. You were kissing him again, but this time he was leading.
The awkwardness from the previous kiss wasn't present this time as the two of you moved in sync, breaths mixed with the other's as your tongues took the lead inside your mouth.
It was a few minutes before you pulled back first โธบyour chest burning at the rapid beating of your heart as your lungs desperately begged for air after being denied longer than usual.
With foreheads pressed against each other, you realised, San's hands had never left the sides of your face, his long fingers gently caressing your skin as if you were the most fragile he ever touched.
It was intimate, the moment the both of you were sharing, there was something there telling you it wasn't just a simple kiss.
His warm breath fanned your skin as he groaned, eyes peering into yours with such intensity, you feared about what you had just gotten yourself into.
"I swear," he was struggling with his words, breaths still heavy at the internal struggle he was having with himself. "I swear (y/n), if you forget about this tomorrow, I will fucking burn your secret candy stash."
You whine at that, words of protest flowing at the fact that he was threatening to attack the stash you kept under your bed, hidden from the eyes of your roommate, whose healthy food habits prohibited you from consuming more than one candy each time.
His eyes stayed on yours, gaze sharp and warning.
"I'm warning you, don't test me."
The sunlight pouring through your window was glaringly bright behind your lids, making you groan at the intensity it was greeting you with. A pounding ache was ever present in your head as you let out a harsh groan.
You really shouldn't have agreed to drink with Doyeon last night.
As you laid there in your bed, unmoving and regretting your life choices, a shrill voice breaks your peace and has you wailing in pain.
"Get up, (n/n)! Dodo! I made soup for both of you and it's already 1 in the afternoon!"
Chaeryeong soon enters your room and drags you out, pulling your zombified body towards the small dining table for four located in the kitchen. Your cries of pain are ignored by the girl as you meet Doyeon seated quietly in one of the chairs, sunglasses over her most likely bloodshot eyes.
"Eat," Chae's voice is reprimanding towards the both of you as she turns to the sink to wash some of the utensils she had just used.
The steaming bowl of soup before you would have been tempting any other day but now, you just wanted to keep your eyes shut and fall asleep forever.
"Thanks for the food," you mumble begrudgingly as you pick up the spoon, taste buds instantly welcoming the entrance of Chae's cooking โธบshe was always so good at this.
"Oh, by the way," Doyeon is also picking up her spoon, swirling it in her food mindlessly. "Thanks for picking us up, Chae."
You nodded and mumbled a quiet 'thanks' as well.
Your third friend shook her head sighing, leaving the last big spoon into its correct drawer. "It wasn't me guys."
Both you and Doyeon look at her confused. "Then who else could it have been?" You question, brows scrunched as you tried to recall the events of the previous night.
You remember ordering a strong drink from Mina, dancing, Doyeon feeling sick, the bathroom, the two of you going back to the bar, you dialing your phone to call Chae โธบ
"Your brother called me in the morning," Chaeryeong rolled her eyes at the both of you, her words registering slowly in your brain. "He told me you called San last night and the two of them were the ones who picked you up."
โธบChoi San picked up instead. Choi San, the boy who kept your body steady as he guided you back home. Choi San, the boy who teased you for not being strong enough to push him away. Choi San, the boy who carried you to your room after your brother ran out in an emergency.
Choi San, your brother's best friend, who you kissed last night. Oh God.
The chair is harshly pushed back as you stand up in realisation, a panic settling in your stomach as you recalled the events of last night.
Your two friends paused, staring at you weirdly while your eyes grew wider with each second.
"What's wrong?" Chae's voice is filled with worry as she presents you the question, stepping towards you in careful consideration. You look at her, horrified.
"I kissed Choi San last night."
The whole apartment was enveloped into a shocked silence, not one of you daring to make a sound until Doyeon shakes her head with a chuckle.
"Fucking finally."
