âLet tonight swallow yesterday, as if it were all a bad dream.
Tonight weâll wash away sins, let the moon light engulf us
Maybe one day weâll both forget
But tonight is to us, while our worlds are in flame, tonight is to us.
Our bruises have healed and our scars are faded
Tonight is to celebrate our endless nights all restless
Lets raise a glass, to our chained engagement
To our hands, all knotted and mangled
To us. As our drinks drain down and we are left to wonder
"Is this really what we want?â
And to mask our fears, fall in love all over, we kicked at the sheets while calling each other lover.

You know what I find ironic? People say first impressions are everything I learned this my first year of high school And then again every single day after Because people are always judging, always assuming And apparently, you always have to be the best possible you What I learned in the nine years beforehand The greatest contradiction to ever be said Donât judge a book by its cover, inside is what counts Maybe they want to give us this false hope that itâs okay to mess up And when weâve reached the age our hope is highest They rip the idea out of our heads and laugh Because the worldâs not as lovely as they made it seem And they love to see us lose all our dreams Because theirs are all dead too

you win.
i remember how your lips taste. How sweet it was when youâd hold my hips. But my hips only looked like hers and my lips could never taste the same. What a shame. But whoâs to blame? i was the innocent bystander caught in your flame. Your flame of disbelieve when she left you. Your fire that burnt every emotion you had till it became nothing but ash.Â
The ash i tried to pick up, only i had no idea of your indignation. Baby i tried to be the drowning rain. Before i knew it though you caught me aflame. You burnt me because of her neglect. although iâve given nothing but respect. infect me with your hate, and little sprinkles that berate.Â
inject me with your venom because im the mouse that will not scatter. âBitchâ oh, im flattered. let me in so you can see baby, maybe weâre meant to be. Everyone sees the bruises though. iâm in too deep now.Â
theyâll find me 6 feet under ground. please help me, save me. âwhere did you go?â i knocked on the wood. itâs too late. this is my fate.
i remember how sweet your lips taste.
the electricity I felt when you whispered in my ear has shifted, the warmth your eyes provided to my soul evaporated, the way your lips brushed close to mine sends shivers down my spine. the beauty of the longings in the human heart was already shattered in my eyes when you found me, and while it may have appeared as if you were gathering the pieces to repair what was broken, you were creating far more damage than good. and I let you, staring destruction in the face with an all too willing heart.

A poem from my poetry book LOVE AND SPACE DUST - available WORLDWIDE on Amazon :)
I ask myself do I smoke the cigarettes or do they end up smoking me? We didnât mean to damage our lungs, we just wanted to feel something. I ask myself do I get high to numb myself from head to toe or does the numbness provide a natural body high that I canât escape from? We didnât mean to hurt our bodies, we just needed to loosen up and breathe. I ask myself do I write about love to remember something or do the poems write me down so that I can forget something? We didnât mean to break those hurts, love just complicates things. I ask the day why it returns, I ask the night why it stays, and I ask myself if I would be better off just leaving this place. We didnât mean to regret anything, we just didnât get to see what was right in front of us. I ask myself do I write the poetry or does the poetry write me? We didnât mean for anyone to get hurt.
Love just does things. (via poetryleftbyher)
