Jason Todd Agere Headcanons ~•°*

Age range baby-toddler (Jason Toddler... He exists in my brain forever I love tiny titans)

His main caretaker is Dick but Babs assists sometimes, and he always loves being babysat by Aunt Diana

He doesn't like regressing around Bruce but sometimes does so involuntarily (Bruce is a great dad to little Jay and Jason has so many complicated feelings about that)

Almost all of his little gear is either Wonder Woman or Nightwing themed, he has a few Robin things but generally it upsets him when he comes out of regression so not much

That's also why he doesn't have a lot of Batman stuff

Loves reading and being read to, Dick will buy him novelty "kids book" versions of his favorite novels for when he's regressed

Big stuffie boy, likes having lots of big dolls and stuffed animals to hold (like the absolutely huge ones) (he has a 46' Wonder Woman doll) (and some giant teddies)

Padded little, the thicker the better; I figure this helps in general because one of the things brain damage can do is fuck with your bladder control (and Jay canonically has brain damage)

Speaking of that, I think the brain damage also contributes to the regression in general, because his mind can't really mature, he's very much still 15yo mentally (and often younger)

Loves cuddles. He won't ask for them. But it's okay because Dick also loves cuddles so he gets his fill.

Likes not being allowed to walk properly; the extra padding helps with him feeling unsteady on his feet (he really likes having to be carried or helped to walk because he's too little to do that on his own)

Doesn't use much baby babble and usually doesn't like little talk, but his sentences are noticeably simpler than usual

Loves loves LOVES nicknames. Dick ofc calls him "little wing" but "baby wing", "baby doll", "baby Jay", "little Jay", "Jaybird", etc all are used by various

Diana calls him her "little warrior" and he loves it

Also loves petnames. Please call him sweetheart. Please.

Doesn't like teasing; hits too close to some of his secret insecurities

Loves praise, please tell him how good he's doing, he needs it

Likes learning toys a lot

His favorite drink is choccy milk or hot choccy depending on the weather

Loves Christmas, I can't justify this but he does

I also have some au specific ones so those'll be under the cut

When he was with the League he'd regress really often, especially if he was looking after Damian during downtime

He would force himself out of it for actual protective and caretaking duties but he spent a lot of time in Toddler Mode playing with toddler Damian

Similarly he'd sometimes request extra copies of whatever work Damian's tutors were giving him so they could do it together

And often regressed while he was supposed to be helping Damian during lessons

(this is especially because he actually had to relearn a lot of things post-revival, so doing the work was actually helping his recovery)

Damian likes taking care of him/babysitting because he feels like it's a form of repayment, like Jason took care of him for so long, it's only right he helps in return (also he does really enjoy it, it's one of the few times he allows himself to act like a kid)
