ABDL : How routine makes it work
Daddy tips - 4
You can find all other Daddy Tips by searching #DaddyTipsABDL on the blog.
Starting ABDL full time with my little guy, I realized that there are two sides of things. Either you try it for a few days and realize it’s not for you. Or you fully commit to it and then it’s a complete shift of life.
ABDL can be a hobby for some but it can also be a new way of life, with its pros and cons.
For us, there has been no question whether we wanted to do it partially or fully dive into this new world. Baby felt the need to live this way and I couldn’t be happier. What better to guide your little through these new steps one by one?
One thing I’ve learned is that ABDL requires a (fairly) strict schedule during the day. Living as ABDL is something that does take a lot of time, including feeding, changing, dressing up, baths and much more. That’s when routine became a new reality.
First, it helps your little be accustomed to follow your rules and your schedule. But it also allows you to shape the day to keep some much deserved alone time at the end of the day. Listen, being my boy’s Daddy is wonderful and something I could not have even dreamed of. However, we still need to rest and have some quietness during the day like everyone else.
I know some of you are enjoying those “daddy tips” I post as you might someday be in a position to have a little of your own, or you are simply curious and interested ! Below is how our routine works, so maybe it can inspire your own.
Once again, be aware that this is not for everyone as we all have different lives and occupations. This is how it works for us but it may not be exactly the same for you.
7:30 : Daddy wakes up - Alone time to get ready for the day.
8:00 : Daddy wakes Baby up
8:10 : Breakfast for Baby (first bottle + a jar of banana baby food)
8:30 : First diaper change + dressing up
—————
8:45 - 17:00 : Work for Daddy outside of home - of course there are ways to keep an eye on your little while you are away but that may be for a future daddy tip!
(During the weekend, this period usually includes playtime in the morning, nap time after lunch at 14:30 and sometimes an additional diaper change)
—————
17:00 : Back at home + second bottle on daddy’s lap
17:15 : Second (usually very much needed) diaper change
17:30 : Bath time
18:15 : Dressing up for evening for Baby (Diaper, onesie and pajamas)
18:30 : Dinner - baby food twice during the week (if you want advice on baby food, click on another Daddy Tips I published here !)
19:15 : Playtime or TV time + third bottle
20:25 : Third diaper change
20:30 : Bedtime for Baby (during weekdays or 22:00 during the weekend)
Alone time until bedtime for Daddy
You will see that this routine matches perfectly the Diaper Chart I shared with you all a few months ago - link here if you have missed it! It gives a chance to my little guy to earn his weekly points for a baba in the morning, afternoon and evening but also to spend 1h+ a day in his playpen, etc. Once again, it’s all about creating a frame that works for you.
Of course, this routine can be varied with surprises such as *naughty* times for Baby, or days out, trips, etc. A routine doesn’t define your whole life but it definitely helps make it work if you are willing to live this life surrounded by diapers, pajamas and bibs.
So yes, it is a lot of work and sometimes means a few restrictions but it is also extremely rewarding. Cuddles, kisses and full diapers are signs that this frame you created works and makes your little happy.
And then, even if you are away for one evening, your little might even keep the routine going because that’s what they now love. An example below of a picture my little boy sent me a few days ago when I was away from home an evening.
Now, that’s what I call a reward as a Daddy! ⬇️
Warning ⚠️ : By living ABDL 24/7 with your little, you accept the risk to step on a Lego block everyday. Believe me, wear your slippers at home. You will thank me later.
