We went berry picking with friends today.
Preemptive celebration:
Inara pooped in the potty today. I was all ready to start the done with diapers party.... And then she pooped on a plate and handed it to me.
This is probably the first 4th of July Roland will remember.
I like the, you know, swirly things in your hairs
-Roland likes curly hair but doesn't know what it's called
Look at these precious little ones. All grown up and throwing shopping carts in the sandbox, wearing 2 different shoes because fashion sense starts early, and loving their family hard. Of course, J volunteered us to watch a 3 month old tomorrow night cuz he's a soft hearted sucker. But as far as permanent kids, I am loving the dynamic of toddlerdom.
I’ve found the holy grail.
@stoneymagoo
Last night of being 1. I have two 2 year olds now. They are extra 2. Last night Zane asked us to rip a tortilla in half, so we did. Then he wanted it back together and we could fix the tortilla, so he cried hysterically for 30 minutes.
Feeling myself today
There's some pretty solid transitions in life and I feel like getting out of cribs forever is one of them.
Friday night homebody check in.
Just got the toddler to bed and the kids squared away with their devices. Taking a million years to decide on something to watch.
There’s Ben and Jerry’s in the freezer but I’m too tired to get up.
8:09 dinner in the eye of the storm. Jabbering preschooler to cajole into bed. Then beer, video games, cake, and probably some tears.
Donuts for National Donut Day, scotch ale and water, knitting, and finally getting around to watching Into The Woods. I’m on vacation, y'all!
Edible + dr strange + cleaning the house.
#self care
-Went to the beach without the kids -slept for 20 hours -ate a bunch of ice cream -got high and sat on the beach. Look at pretty rocks on the beach sometime. It’s a trip. -also ended up hiking something like 8 miles during this time. My friends were laughing and I’d be hard pressed to say if it’s because I’m actually hilarious while hiking and looking at plants or if they were also enjoying the beach as much as I was. -came back and “forgot the milkies at the beach”. So, no more nursing ever. -what a weird thing to leave baby phase in the past.
Ro has a white/orange sash in kung fu now. He also took first place for his division in sparring last saturday.
Plus, he wanted that buzz cut.
And now he looks like a kid and not a preschooler at all.
Pretty sure he was just born, though.
super flashback Saturday.
This is me at approximately 6 months prenatal. My mom is 19 or 20 here, we’re not sure when during summer this was taken.
Thinking about Mother's Day and how complicated it all is today.
It's called a cup, son
R: guess what?
Neighbor: what?
R: it's KUNG FU DAY!
Neighbor: that's exciting.
R: I got a MOUTH GUARD.
Neighbor: that's cool-
R (at the top of his lungs: AND A PENIS PROTECTOR.
Neighbor: *dies laughing*
Sometimes we go for hikes with friends and flowers and mountains.
The last thing you ate + the first thing you see when you look to your left is the title of your pretentious lifestyle blog.
Right now, mine would be called Pizza and Prints.
Coffee and windows.
…I’d follow that.

If you are like me and don’t like talking on the phone, here’s a really easy way to get a message to your members of Congress! It’s called ResistBot. Text ‘Resist’ to 50409 and follow the instructions. It’s really simple, and quick! I did it in about 10 minutes, but it could take 5 for some people. I sent a fax to each of my Senators, and tomorrow ResistBot is going to text me a reminder to send a fax to my Representatives!
Quick google came up with teen vogue article talking about resistbot. http://www.teenvogue.com/story/resistbot-faxes-texts-to-senators
It works great!
