Amazing Sunset, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Maine. I had posted the iPhone version of this image a few weeks ago, but finally was able to process the Nikon version of this image, which is even more dramatic and satisfying to me. I can still recall that evening very vividly. It was very grey out and overcast to start, which was perfect for finding Fall color in the forest. My only problem that day had been a modest breeze, so I had to wait at times for the wind to quiet down. Suddenly, I noticed that the light around me was no longer grey, but an incredible combination of golden-yellows and purple. I looked up to find this amazing sky above me, but now I needed to put something underneath that sky to create an interesting photo. I ran over to a nearby pond and framed this shot. Fortunately, the wind had died down and the reflections were perfect! Sometimes, you just get lucky.
