Twitter Rant

I’m devastated because twitter used to be my happy place. I created a brand new twitter for the simple reasons of wanting to see exo fill my timeline at every second of the day. It used to be fun, ya know? Keeping up with the latest fandom jokes, seeing funny videos, seeing the boys, and being able to up to date with everything. But recently, things have gotten way out of hand. And it’s revolting really, the negativity.

Without explaining, I’m sure everyone knows about the constant fanwars between exo-ls and armys. It’s literally gotten to the point where people lost all sense of respect and manners, and it’s like a children’s playground. No one is right in this situation, but everyone is wrong in this situation. 

People seem to forget that behind the computer screen, there is a normal human being. Just like you. They experience pain, distress, sadness, and happiness. Everyone, unless under other circumstances, deserves respect. Especially these artists, and not just your own. You don't have to like them, or their music, but you do have to respect them. Because, like your faves, they went through training and gave up their entire teenage years to follow and do what they love. And that deserves respect.

The negativity on twitter has gotten to the point where it’s suffocating. It’s difficult to even be on twitter to just enjoy my timeline because everyone’s defending their faves, which is natural and the cause of this CONSTANT fan war. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even enjoy it anymore. It’s not a happy place, it’s a sad and negative place. And that’s something I don't need in my life.

So the executive decision was made, and I’m temporarily leaving twitter. Not like anyone cares to know here and there, but this is has been a great rant. I feel 10x better, and I know I’ll be 100x better after I leave twitter for a while.

Also, this doesn't mean I’ll be leaving the fandom. I still have so much time to indulge in these nerdy things before I officially have to become an adult. LOL

Hey this the new to exo anon from before and i was wondering how to keep updated on interviews and performances and stuff bc it seems like every time i come online theres new gifs and clips and its hard to find out where they're from. Are there twitter/tumblr accounts that focus on new videos that come out?

hello again, um i don't know any tumblr accounts other than just searching exo on the search bar. but for twitter there is a few i’d recommend:

@wendysunbae - she subs. i follow her for the updates 

@kyeongsew - kyungsoo/d.o. stan. she does subs with the mong 

@themongs_exo - a group of subbers who subs exo related videos 

@Tyche_Boys - jongdae/chen and minseok/xiumin stan. subs and sometimes posts links for exo interviews and such

@yixinqins - yixing/lay stan. she posts exo and lay links and does subs

@sberryeol - chanyeol stan. subs articles/posts

@venessa_chun - baekhyun stan. subber, my favorite tbh. her subs are always good and it’s easy to follow

@namja1to4 - SHES(?) AN ANGEL! she posts links to exo performances/interviews/videos THE FASTEST. they're not subbed but you’ll always know if there is anything

there are also a lot of fanbase accounts on twitter that if you search exo on the search bar a few is bound to pop up. i wasn't sure if you were looking for subs or just updates in general so.. i hope this helps!

So i got into exo like a week ago and i love them so much already, but all this tragedy and drama is so daunting for new fans its a lot to take in. Like i stayed up til 7 am reading your blog just now bc i cant find a good source like this anywhere else. My question is, what do u suggest for new fans coming in on how we should act/get informed/support the band as ot9 since most of us will probably be starting from the beginning in our consumption of music, interviews, etc.?

hi! wow I've never gotten such a question before so I'm simply going by what I believe is the best way to integrate into a fandom. this is gonna get long so be prepared lmao. so I've only been into kpop and exo for a little more than 2 years. and in those two years a lot has happened, both good and bad. I'm not gonna lie, there's a lot of drama in this fandom. and it's mostly bc of immature fans. I think how one should act in a fandom would just be to simply know your place. we're fans, we shouldn't dictate the idol's life, both personal and work related. who they date is who they date, we should be happy that they found someone they love. and don't treat your idol like a god, yes sometimes they look like male gods, but they're human, they make mistakes. it's okay to point out comments they make that make you feel uncomfortable. just know they're humans, we all make mistakes. don't put that against them. also, treat everyone with respect. you may not like the group or the fandom, but you shouldn't be disrespectful to them. don't cause useless fanwars. it's common sense, I know. but common sense doesn't seem that common anymore. and lastly, if you don't like a fandom, don't rule the group out. there's a group I like, but I'm not a huge fan of their fandom. but that doesn't stop me from liking a group.best way to get informed is probably Twitter and/or tumblr. I get most of my information on Twitter. there's plenty of great fan pages to follow and they often translate posts made by the members or articles about them. they post a lot of news and other things so I often get notified that way. if you'd like I can give you a list of a few of my favorite pages. but best way to learn about the members is interviews or variety shows! they're easy to find, YouTube or dailymotion.lastly how to support exo as ot9. I think it's easy since new fans weren't there for luhan, tao, and kris. it was the worst time when they left. and I won't go into detail with them. all i truly understand is that it seems like only luhan left on a good note. act with care and respect and the boys won't have to be embarrassed. support is a very broad term. support can be anything. you can support the boys without buying merch or albums. support the boys however you like!and that's pretty much all I have to say... if you have any other questions or if you want to know more about exo and the fandom, feel free to shoot me a message anytime! and also, welcome to the fandom~ :)

its a hard earned vacation that i bet minseok was beyond excited to go on. but he can’t even enjoy his vacation without being bombarded by fans like this. this kind of behavior... i can’t even form coherent words to begin to describe how disgusting this is. this is borderline saesang behavior.. unbelievable...

i understand that exo doesn't come to your country often. but why can’t you just simply say hi and walk away? let them enjoy their vacation in peace. that’s the whole point of a vacation.. but you can’t relax when people are pushing and shoving you left and right and screaming into your ear at every corner. i’m just completely disappointed at the Vietnamese fans who were apart of this..

i’m not sure how many people will actually open this video and watch, and maybe you’ve already watched it before. but watching this, i felt fear. not only for minseok but for any of the idols who goes through this. as i watched, i see minseok trying to get through the crowd, being pushed and shoved and almost losing his balance. i was scared that he’d fall and the fans would trample him.. although his face was partially covered, i bet he’s scared too.

so please, give minseok some privacy. let him enjoy his short vacation before he has to go back and work day and night. pass by him and say hi. don’t follow him around. don’t scream at him. don’t push him. don’t do anything to him. he loves to see fans, but not like this...

as a fan, there’s nothing worse than seeing your favorite member on stage with his eyes completely dead. i’ve seen many fans who are supportive, but i’ve also seen some who aren't. they aren't happy that he found someone who made him happy, that he decided to come out with their relationship, that he wanted to live as a normal human being. he shouldn’t have to choose between love and his fans. he should be able to have both.

to those fans who are heartbroken right now, i’m sorry. i know some of you guys are supportive, and i know some of you guys don’t know where to stand, and i know some of you hate this situation right now. and i know that everyone feels differently and not everyone is okay with jongin dating. but all that i ask from you is to be happy for him. he found someone who makes him happy, who makes him look forward to every day, who makes him look forward to seeing once in a while. and someday we will too. i hope your heart heals with time. and i hope you continue to love jongin as you do now. we’re all jongin’s remember?

i’ve seen many who are supportive of jongin and krystal. and for that i’m so thankful. i’ve seen fans turn their backs on baekhyun, i’ve seen them throw insults at him, i’ve seen him look completely defeated on stage. and even though i see some turn their backs on jongin, i want to thank everyone who stayed. today on the lotte world stage, his usual shine and presence wasn’t there. the person we saw on stage was jongin, not kai. we saw someone who has been teared open, completely vulnerable. we’re seeing what the public and dispatch can do to a person.

i want his smile back. i know everyone else does too. and maybe it takes time. but i never want him to frown or feel any tinge of sadness or remorse. i don't want him to apologize for loving someone. i don't want him to think that we’ve left him.

i’ve been with jongin since the first day i entered the fandom. and i haven't left since. it’s been three years and i don't regret a single day. there’s been tears, of both sadness and happiness. there’s been laughter, smiles, and heartbreaks. but we went through it all together. and that’s what makes our bond as fans stronger with exo.

i won't say forever, because we don't know how long we’ll be together, but let’s walk together for a very long time, okay? we’re all in this together and together, we’ll get through this.

I am so happy for jongin. he found someone who makes him happy and I'm glad. as long as he's happy, I'm happy. and as a fan, that's all you can do. be happy for your faves and continue to support them all the way. we knew that exo would start dating sooner or later, it's no surprise. whether or not they last a long time doesn't matter. as long as he's happy now, that's what counts. jongin is a great guy. everything he's said during interviews about how he'd treat his girlfriend, how he'd cook for her, love her, krystal snagged a great guy. and I'm not just saying that because he's my bias. and of course, jongin is lucky to have krystal, someone who makes him happy. jongin-ah, pls always be happy and healthy. exo-ls are going to be with you through everything!

EXO used to be overrated, but after all they’ve been through the success they have now is earned, yes EXO-Ls sometimes are too much, but just like every other fandom they do everything they can to make their boys smile.

As someone who has been a Suho bias since EXO’s debut, it hurts to see people like Kim Gu Ra putting Suho down and calling him “boring” just because he’s not the most charismatic member. He’s a great person who cares for his members and even though he’s not the greatest singer compared to BaekChenSoo, he has a vocal tone that I love.

EXOPLANT #2: THE EXO’luXion

i just finished watching an almost three hour long concert dvd of exo at tokyo dome and i feel so inspired to write a post.. lol so that’s what i’m gonna do bc i have nothing to do with my life since i’m on spring break and exo is taking over my life........ but whats new? lol

i’m just gonna start off by saying: i really love this concert. everything about it was beyond perfection. shim jaewon said that when he was planning out and directing exo’luxion, he wanted to do two things. one, showcase exo’s charms and talents. for every member, he wanted to bring out their charms and talents and let the world know that exo is a talented and charming group. and two, teach exo the true art of performing. and let me tell you, shim jaewon, i fucking love you. you’ve delivered it all. 

shim jaewon also said that when he was looking back at the lost planet, he hated it. same here, jaewon, same here. i agree that the lost planet didn't showcase exo’s charms. it was awkward and bland and the fan service wasn’t up to par with exo’s usual fan services. sure the fans loved it, but i agree that it wasn’t the best. he kept all that in mind and created exo’luxion.

first of all, can we talk about how we actually have a choreography to don't go? ONE OF MY FAVORITE EXO SONG OF ALL TIME HAS A CHOREOGRAPHY AND IT’S ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. 

and then he hit it big with el dorado. the stage for el dorado was fantastic. it’s a stage that can only fit in large concert venues and it takes lots of preparation. so, sorry guys, we’re not getting an el dorado live version anytime soon. just watch the concert videos for now lol.

however, my favorite part of the concert has got to be the part where they perform full moon, machine, drop that, let out the beast, and run. so hype. this part taught exo how to perform for real. it showed everyone that exo can be performers. not just the cookie cutter dancing and singing group they were known for. they know how to hype up a crowd. they know how to finally have fun on stage. it’s probably super exhausting, but i’ve never seen them happier to be on stage.

lastly, i feel like i’ve seen the boys grow so much. both as performers and a human being. this seems cheesy and i know that i don't know them personally enough to really say that, but i can't help but feel like they’ve grown so much. exo’luxion was the happy place for them. they could let loose and have fun with the fans and with the other members. i’ve seen all the members come out of their shells. kyungsoo looks so happy these days and minseok seems to be so playful with everyone these couple of years. i’ve seen members who seem awkward with certain members, become close and playful with them. and the year-end shows has shown me that exo can really perform and have fun.

i’m so glad i got the opportunity to be apart of the exo’luxion crowd. and also to be apart of exo’s first north american tour. i feel accomplished as a fan now lol. and i hope every exo-l gets the opportunity to see exo live one day!

also, the concert was pretty expensive. i’ve seen a lot of people talking about how the price is the reason why they didn't get tickets for exo. for me, i paid $212 and thats fees included. $197 excluding fees. that’s a lot of money, i know. and back then i wouldn't spend $200+ on a concert..ever. and i probably still wouldn't pay that much. but its exo. and i love all their songs. and i think thats why i enjoyed the concert more than some(?). if i didn't like every song the group produced, i probably wouldn’t have paid $200+ for a ticket. but exo’luxion was well worth the money! believe me. the experience was one of a kind!
