(Swipe) then and now post. No these aren’t my first pic and last pic on fb. This is a then and now post of my healing process. It took a while to find a good old photo to contrast but here it is. For the longest time I thought god didn’t care about what I wanted in my life so I refused to follow his path for me. I still kept him by me when I needed him but it wasn’t at all enough. I believed that I was always going to be marked by my struggles so I accepted them. Every lie from the enemy I accepted, I accepted that I was depressed and that nothing could change that. I accepted that I had OCD and there was nothing to do but live with it. I accepted my circumstances and decided that I’d never be anything but what I ended up as...regardless of what that looked like. I let life and struggles mold me and it led to deep depression and isolation from EVERYONE. I did what I felt like doing and that meant disobeying the advice of those who actually cared and loved me. I disregarded the spiritual and settled for the emotional and physical. One day God said ENOUGH, I want to let everyone know that I DIDNT CHANGE MYSELF, I DIDNT SAVE ME. sometimes when you’ve asked for things in the valley you forget about it and one day God pulls you out. He placed wonderful people in my life to help me grow and help me step into my purpose. It’s been a long and very hard painful process but I’m THANKFUL for it. I’ve always asked for a support system because I had “friends” in my life at the time that belittled, used and controlled me. I’ve always asked for a man in my life that was patient, powerful and gentle because the men in my life wounded me more than healed me. I’ve always asked to never feel lonely again because in that loneliness I would hate myself. In everything that has been restored in my life, my vision of who I thought God was changed. It wasn’t just a sermon rom a pulpit anymore, it was actually TRUE. God did care about me, he did love me and he wasn’t dragging me around like a rag doll. He did care about what I wanted and it was given to me and it was more than enough. When I went to the One thing Conference, there were many words spoken that touched my heart but the phrase that meant the most was probably Hephzibah I delight in you. It’s a scripture in Isaiah. They described his eyes like a loving burning fire. Hephzibah means my delight. He loves us and delights in us because we love him and praise him.
