Today Oakdale Grove made pilgrimage and had a somber memorial and deconsecration ritual in Rushford, Minnesota for the 337 year old bur oak that was destroyed in a storm last July. I previously visited this tree in May 2022 and was in awe at its size.

Drove my dad by the house my grandfather grew up and lived in on North Broadway today, and we were glad to see that it’s being rebuilt, hopefully along with each of its neighbors. 13 years ago today we had a secret small civil ceremony at a courthouse after only 7 months of dating. The 36 year olds in the top ceremony photo did not know how happy the 49 year olds in the anniversary dinner photo would end up. Improvement happens over time and with practice. Something that is easily a source of frustration is forgetting that sometimes the changes in skill are harder to detect when paired against works within the same span of time. Going back this year to retry things really put that into perspective.  I love this happy little bulbasaur

Print #3: Garry from the RPG Horror Game Ib

This is the last of the large prints I’ve had time to complete in time for printing. It was a fun one since this is actually a re-draw of a re-draw. I had originally drawn out this print back when I still used traditional mediums like colored pencils and copic markers so around 2014 and early 2015.

Then I re-drew that version when I started doing digital art in late 2015. I do have that piece to show a fun then and now comparison for those interested. Sadly, the traditional one is floating somewhere in my house and I don’t think I posted it online (I’ll keep looking though).
