Types of Witches

There are SO MANY types of witches. To make things simple and easy to understand, I've collected the main types, and I've used them as "umbrella types". Under each "umbrella" there are several, more specific types of witches.
Beginner Witch (me!)
Do you consider beginner witches as a type of witch? Often called a "baby witch" in the media, they are just beginning to learn witchcraft and finding their way along their spiritual path.
2. Green Witch
They focus on nature and the elements. They draw energy from the Earth, plants & herbs.
3. Kitchen Witch
Kitchen witches focus on putting intention and energy into their cooking, commonly using herbs for their magickal purposes. Homes and kitchens are viewed as sacred, so protection spells & rituals are a common practice.
4. Divination Witch
Palmistry, tarot, pendulums, tea reading, runes, candle reading, scrying-- all are forms of divination. These witches use tools as part of their practice to gain insight and influence decision making. Divination witches who have a strong connection with a specific form of divination may choose to narrow their witch type.
5. Cosmic Witch
Their practice is aligned with celestial bodies & the cosmos. They study astrology, planetary movements, & star alignments to guide their spell work & rituals. They use tools like natal charts, telescopes & star maps. The universe is an unlimited source of power.
6. Hedge Witch
Hedge, meaning "hedge jumping", describes the practice of traveling between the physical & spiritual worlds. They often work with herbs, divination tools & meditation to achieve this & connect with spirits on the other side. This practice is intuitive & personal, & focuses on healing & transformation. Usually solitary & value their independence.
7. Lunar Witch
Their practice is aligned with the lunar cycles, drawing their magic from the moon & its phases. May connect better with lunar deities & perform rituals during celestial events. Deeply tied to intuition, emotions & the subconscious mind.
8. Solar Witch
They harness their energy from the Sun. Common themes are growth, transformation & vitality. They prefer day-time magick and may incorporate warm tone colours into their work. Spiritual tools are often charged by the sun.
