Introduction!
Hello, Tumblr-verse! And welcome to my followers, transitioners, choppers, and natural beauties alike! My name is Alyx, I live in S. Florida, and as of today (December 28th, 2012) I am about 5 months into my transitioning journey! I began this journey, and ultimately decided to begin this blog and a vlog, because my processed hair has always been prone to breakage; however, a few weeks after my 21st birthday the breaking grew to an alarming rate. Even now, 5 months into my transition, my hair is terribly uneven (but growing!) and needs tender love.
An aunt of mine actually convinced me to go natural and I immediately realized I knew nothing about taking care of my hair other than I was "supposed to" relax it when my roots began to grow. So, I took to YouTube and watched dozens of videos and tutorials, brought tons of moisturizers and other products, and dedicated myself to not only learning all I could about the beauty that is African-American hair, but also how to treat it right and nurture it back to health. Afterall, ladies and gentlemen, our hair is the crown our ancestors passed down to us and as such, we should wear it proudly.
