TURNING HER HEAD TO THE SIDE, WITH both her hands firmly wrapped around the steering wheel, Evelyn gave Zack a half-baked smile than her eyes slipped back to the road. "You should be reminded never piss me off no matter what.” She jested. Or might not. “Yeah, as well as you could become one of The Power Rangers.” Without even knowing it, Evelyn must’ve sowed the seed of panic in Zack, at the moment.
“Is not it strange that Putties mostly attack people with some kind of skill? I had never seen them kicking the doors of the mini-market open and attempting felony.” Her brows rose while she proceeded the slight shock of a sudden attack aimed at them.
By now, pretty much every citizen of Angel Grove must’ve remembered the pattern of Rita’s attacks. Putties come first, then some groove monster causing havoc, and then we have our rainbow group saving the day while wrecking the city. The girl let out a weary sigh only thinking about it. “We should find a shelter. This is how it usually starts, right?” There wasn’t even fear in her tone. Evelyn was done. With this place, specifically. She couldn’t wait to move back to Philly for the university. West Coast was even worse than the East.
Fortunately, her mother’s mansion was pretty far from the epicenter of the usual chaos and barely ever got damaged during the attacks hence Evelyn’s immediate thought was to escort both of them there. "What about your family? We should get to them.“ She thought out loud when suddenly, with a mighty thud, the road opened in front of them, and all the cars, including Evelyn’s, zigzagged and backed away furiously and confusedly.
Giant tendrils began to sprout from the ground, and within seconds the entire street turned into a jungle. Evelyn couldn’t tell for sure where exactly all this was coming from, but there was no doubt that it was Rita’s wicked work. People ran furiously from place to place in an attempt to escape the devastation. The plant that stretched around absorbed everything in its vicinity, and it seemed intelligent because it crawled intuitively around houses and cars.
Turning at Zack, Evelyn counted their options. "Either will stay in the car or run away but the road is impassable."
Zack's grin beamed brighter to her words." The Zack-Man never been good at pissing off women." He chuckled. While his larger than life persona produced a couple eye-roll or two from the ladies- as well as mixed emotions, anger was never one of them.
The once star bright smile plummeted as the conversation turned immensely uncomfortable. Was she suggesting he was a Power Ranger simply because he was attacked by Putties? He remembered once before his cousin Curtis, and Richie were attacked by Putties so where was she getting these conclusions from? Weird.
A laugher erupted from the dancer's lips." Me a Power Ranger? Shittttt. Would be dope if I was. Knowing these idiots they probably target attractive people. Make a whole lot of sense now, huh?" He laughed." Yeah let's get some shelter."
She asked about his family and nothing was spoke of. For as much as he kept a positive aura and an upbeat attitude, home life wasn't exactly that. His father wasn't exactly fond of his son's hobbies, pending career choices and his less than stellar excuses for his numerous disappearing acts during family events. Jerome Taylor was a former Correctional officer, police officer, state prosecutor, and and now a Supreme Court Judge. He wanted more for Zack than to be another black entertainer. They clashed.
"Family is cool. Dad seems to know what's best for everyone so they'll be cool." And if a monster didn't appear to cock block him once again it just wouldn't be a Zack Taylor story. The ugly monster looked gruesome but nowhere near as terrifying as the now departed Snake monster.
"Yo...you take us to Anaheim? Cause last time I checked I didn't have Disneyland tickets so how the hell did we take a Jungle Book tour?" The damn creature was absorbing everything and they could be next. They needed to move. Now.
"Get the hell out! Now!" He opened the car door." Run as fast as you can!"
