Contender for funniest moments in Naruto: when Danzo tells Kakashi to kill Sarutobi, and Kakashi LITERALLY FUCKING SNITCHES ON HIM DIRECTLY TO SARUTOBI, who it is to be noted is also LITERALLY NINJA PRESIDENT DICTATOR, and Sarutobi just kinda goes "damn that's wild. He's my childhood friend tho. So." and it's just kinda left at that.

#my favorite interpretation of this #is that danzo & hiruzen are actually total bros #and danzo is. in fact. doing exactly what hiruzen wants him to do #namely: playing the traitor so that other traitors approach danzo as an ally and thus out themselves #so in this scenario. danzo was testing kakashi's loyalty #and kakashi passed by a narrow margin by backing out last minute #i don't think that interpretation is what kishimoto intended BUT i do think it's infinitely more compelling

I retouched this old drawing I made a while ago (I fixed the wonky architecture and changed Minato's hair) and added the background the original pencil drawing had.

Not sure whether I like the garden background more than the white one (I think the white background is more "dramatic", but I do like how much fuller this one feels), but I wanted to finish the original idea, even 6 years later xD
