To Whom it might concern:
Not many of you know this but I am studying to be an English teacher (TEFL). Specifically, to teach abroad.
Now, I would like to ask you;
How was your English teacher if you had one?
How did they teach you? Anything you like that they did? Anything you disliked?
Anything interesting that they did that genuinely helped you learn English?
Something I should avoid? Something I should probably look out for?
What is something YOU did to teach yourself English? If that is the case with some of you.
I am a Native English speaker, is that something preferred?

To answer this, all my English teachers were quite good but it was in my last two years of high-school that got me very much engaged with English as a subject.
What these teachers did that was most noticeable was that they made the class quite engaging, especially when it came to the prescribed literature. While most teachers did straightforward reading and interpretation along with a monotonous voice and blank expression, these teachers were enthusiastic to share their knowledge with their students. They made the literature enjoyable and something to look forward to instead of something that was boring and dreadful.
Most teachers taught Language & Comprehension in a very demonstrative and mundane way by giving us previous exam papers to do and marking them along with the class afterwards. It was not the most interesting but I fail to come up with any other method to do this better.
Also, what helped the most was solidifying writing skills as most teachers give a lackluster explanation of how to proceed with the planning, drafting and final phase of writing essays, especially within exam-timed conditions. Especially with literary essays.
And it'll definitely help that you're a native speaker as I'm sure it'll help you indulge within the classroom setting easier.

Made bread just yesterday for the first time and I can understand why people love doing it! It came out nicely and the smell of fresh homemade bread is a great feeling.
(Don't mind the paper. Had to use an oiled sheet of paper since there was no baking paper at home. Surprisingly it works quite well and may be a potential tip. )

The best chocolate chip cookies (probably ever)
đȘ Its quite the claim to make, I know, but these cookies are so yummy and Iâve done them many times with great success. If youâre really feeling creative, last Halloween instead of using chocolate chips I used chopped up Halloween candy (smarties, MnMs, Reeseâs, Aero, ect) and it was AWESOME! But canât beat a classic, right?
đȘ Ingredients:
1 cup butter (melt it and let it cool for ~10 minutes)
1Πcup brown sugar
œ cup white sugar
1 egg (room temperature)
1œ tsp vanilla extract
2Ÿ cup flour
2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking soda
Ÿ tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips (or more, if you want)
đȘ How to make it:
Combine butter, brown sugar and white sugar in a bowl. Add the egg and vanilla extract.
In separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt.
Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet, and make sure all flour is mixed in.
Allow to chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (longer is fine)
Scoop cookie dough into balls, adding chocolate chips, and place onto lined baking sheet.
Space cookies about 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
Bake at 350â° for 11 minutes.
You will likely have to do multiple pans because of the required spacing, but ensure the cookies can cook for at least 10 minutes before removing them from the pan.
đȘ Notes:
When the 11 minutes is up, they look soft. Like REALLY soft. But believe me, thatâs correct. Just donât handle them before the 10 minutes is up, because they might melt on the cooling rack or in your hands. They stay soft for a few days, but only if they donât get eaten first. Happy Baking!

I feel a bit underwhelmed. I want to do so much but I'm not sure where to start. Just hoping my results are good enough. But now, all that's left to do is chill and enjoy the holidays before worrying about university.
