Riley cleared her throat, surprised by the deeper voice that came out before, and debated internally. “Oh, yeah,” she said, forcing herself to sound relaxed. “I’m good. I just didn’t realize I wasn’t me until just now.” It had only taken her a few seconds to realize this must have been the work of the Meta from yesterday. That was the only explanation. So she felt like she had to explain a little farther. “Then you walked in, and I thought you might find it strange to see me in here, so here we are.” Tentatively, she opened the stall and tried not to look past the woman at herself in the mirror again. Well, probably not woman, she realized. The suit was far too big and a men’s cut, obviously, and Riley suddenly realized how odd she must look. Her slacks were far too short but somehow not too tight, while her wrinkled blouse was so tight and small it’s wrinkles from being slept in had been eradicated. There was no way she was putting on her change of clothes: her favorite blue dress. “It’s Riley,” she said finally. “If that was unclear.”

“Seems to be the case for a lot of people at the moment,” Kaden said with a small chuckle, watching as the other person came out of the stall. His gaze flickered over the other employee, noting the tight fitting and awkward clothing on their form. Definitely had to be someone who had undergone the same changes he had, but…reversed. His brows rose slightly as she revealed herself to be Riley, and Kaden couldn’t help a sigh of relief. At least it was someone he knew. “Yeah, I didn’t recognize you with the…and the…well, y’know,” he replied with some vague gestures towards the scientist’s masculine form. “It’s Kaden, by the way, and I’m sure that was definitely unclear. Do you, uh, want some spare clothes that might fit? You look about my height.”
“Right,” Riley agreed stiffly, self-conscious and far less confident in a new body. This was like a nightmare come true. The kind of nightmare she would have had as a little girl, away at boarding school. Somehow very similar to walking into class naked...
Riley looked up suddenly, surveying the woman-man-before her. Kaden? Oh. Okay. Interesting. He looked nothing like she would have imagined. (Had she ever even tried to imagine this, for some godforsaken reason.) Not that she thought she would have looked like this either.
“Yes, thank you, I appreciate that,” she said with a definitive nod. “We could swap, if you want. Whatever I have would probably fit you better than your own suit.”
What do you do with your best friend? You do nothing.

Riley worked a long night catching up on things after all the mayhem with the Nephilim, and like she was a kid again… had fallen asleep on her desk. Right there at work, face in the keyboard. Maybe it was because of that cold she felt coming on… but of course, now she felt fine. Waking up slowly, she glanced at the time and realized no one else was probably here yet. “Ok, run to the bathroom, change fast, run back, hide the old clothes,” she thought to herself, pulling a spare set of clothes out of her locked desk drawer. This is why we keep a set of clothes! For emergencies. And stupid mistakes. No one would ever know she’d spent the night. She slipped into the women’s restroom without running into anyone and breathed a little easier. Until she glanced in the mirror. She screamed loudly, looking behind her, then back at the mirror. There was no man in the ladies’ room; she was- She was the man in the ladies’ room! Riley stepped a little closer to the mirror, peering at her own new self and jumped when the bathroom door opened. “Oh shit,” she gasped, then gasped again at how low her voice sounded. She grabbed her clothes and ran into a stall. “Sorry!” She called to whoever had come in. “I’m not- I mean-” What was she supposed to say?! “Sorry,” she finished weakly, totally at a loss.
Kaden was still a little disoriented from waking up that morning, but it seemed pretty self explanatory when one woke up one day as the complete opposite gender. Surprisingly, he wasn’t as freaked out as everyone else. He still thought he was hot, and it was temporary, so panicking felt like a waste of time. The only issue the agent had was clothing for work. As much as he loved her, Deidra couldn’t help him out since she had a much shorter female form than he had. Kaden stood now at about five foot nine, he was assuming, and his girlfriend’s clothes were much too small on him. So he decided to just suck it up and put on his own suit for work, which did not fit right at all; it was baggy and hung loose on his slimmer, less broad frame. Everything was fine as he got to work, other agents were discussing the changes, and it wasn’t totally weird…until he experienced the internal conflict of the bathroom issue. Shit. Which one should he use here? He identified as male, but physically for now, he was female. Fuck it, he went for the women’s bathroom this time. There wasn’t anything he hadn’t seen before…or owned right now. As he entered, his eyes went wide when he saw a man, who promptly freaked out on his entrance into the restroom. “Whoa, calm down,” he said, holding up his hands. “Dude…Dude?” he repeated, sounding unsure if this person was actually a dude or another changed employee. “You, uh, you all right there?”

Seeing Hayden, Riley immediately scaled back her tone of voice, but she couldn’t stop from tapping her fingers on her arm. How could this happen? Who could have done this? She had a million questions and too many ambiguous answers. She frowned at Hayden’s question. “Everyone is. What is this?”

Hayden crossed her arms mirroring the girl. While they worked together, she knew very little about her. She didn’t know if it was because Hayden was antisocial or Riley was private. In any case, there was no use dwelling on it now. “Ridiculous. I.T. cannot seem to find anything either. They may have to reset the servers. That will take hours. If there was no internal error that we can find it means there was some sort of, for lack of a better word, attack on our system.”
Hayden was clearly just as frustrated as the rest of them, maybe more. But she was still calm, cool, and collected, and that gave Riley a reason to be the same. "Attack..." she murmured, glancing back at her screen. "Rather sophisticated."
