PEARL (2022)
I love that we have all found our way back. We are all 14 years old and making friends with strangers. Bless.
FLORIDA 🌴
Okay so straight up, Florida fans did not come to play! You guys have been showing up and showing out with all your sock and tampon donations and I am overwhelmed. THANK YOU!!
We first stopped in Jacksonville, where we welcomed Changing Homelessness to Bloom. Not only do they work directly with those experiencing homelessness, but they have an alliance with JASMYN, a group providing health, wholeness and advocacy services for LGBTQ youth in northeast Florida.
Next, in St. Petersburg we invited METRO Community Health join us—they couldn’t make it and instead graciously recommended we give our donations to CASA, which serves survivors of domestic violence of all genders. Still, if you’re in the St. Pete’s area you should totally check both orgs out and see how you can get involved!
OK, now to my favorite part—photos! Look at these cuties out doing good:
Jacksonville
Thank you: Skyler and Maureen
St. Petersburg
Thank you: Jamie, Alexis, Cassidy, Vincent, Alex, and Maricarmen
One of the reasons The Ally Coalition brought along The Trevor Project on Bloom is to end conversion therapy. It doesn’t work and it can ruin lives. This past spring, Seth Owen, just as he was about to graduate as valedictorian from his high school in Jacksonville, was kicked out of his home and disinherited from his parents for coming out. His family even sent him to conversion therapy. But, thankfully a community formed around him and he made his way to school at Georgetown. This is why we support each other. Not any one of us deserves to become a statistic.
If you can’t make it out to Bloom and you want to get involved in ending conversion therapy, check out how here. There are some way cool incentives and a chance to see Boy Erased before it’s released.
OK, bye Florida, hello Georgia :)

Accept that you’ll sometimes be the bad guy in someone else’s story. Grow from it, forgive yourself, and move on.

Sometimes I’ll just be going through my gay ass goddamn day and remember……it wasn’t love
In fact bitch…..it was a perfect illusion
Spook Hill Motel in Lake Wales, Florida. Spook Hill is among the most famous “gravity hills” in the world. You park your car at the bottom – the town has painted a helpful line on the street at the starting point – put it in neutral, then sit in amazement as you roll uphill. Definitely on my places to visit, someday.
wow i’m FURIOUS the motel doesn’t exist
also that spook hill doesn’t work :(
