I've never sent out a link to a "screamer" but I enjoy getting them. I know more than a few people that enjoy getting them. They like them for the same reason people like the Paranormal Activity movies. Small and unexpected scares can be fun for a lot of people. Just because something bothers some people doesn't mean it bothers everyone. I consider someone sending a stupid Rick Roll video far more of an asshole than someone sending a "screamer".
