AMRA CAUSEVIC ; DOCUMENT DIRECTION.
1. NAME AND LOCATION-   Amra Causevic  /  St. Petersburg FL
2. FAVORITE MEDIUM -   I like using anything and everything.  I mainly work in sculpture, so my medium of choice varies. From paint chips, to tape, paper….  I like working with wood sometimes.  It smells so good once its cut and sanded, man. Especially cedar!!  I love also using wood in printmaking!  But then I sometimes like working with steel and copper ( for etching).  But lately I have been sewing fabric and concrete, and its really interesting! Cutting patterns and figuring out how to put something together requires a lot of strategy and it becomes almost like an engineering project. While concrete is kind of mind boggling just because you never expect it to be that heavy!!  I think whatever medium I use and work it, I really like solving puzzles and figuring out how to use it and how to work with it.  It’s kind of random. Â
3. WHO DOES IT RIGHT-  Roman Signer ! He is the ultimate rascal!  Especially, his older works, one specifically titled “Punkt.”  I think when art is made to reflect the current moment/state, it usually works.  Sometimes it might not look good or people might not understand it, but they don’t have to.  I think anyone who is really tuned into whats going on (or completely tuned out), either with themselves or the world-  does it right!  It doesn’t really matter, as long as they don’t doubt what they are doing and just do it.  Actually, I don’t really know how to the answer this question.  Nature seems to be doing it right, it doesn’t think about it, it just does it, right? It grows and follows the sun and the flow of the winds and currents, and yet somehow we get these beautiful (and daunting) landscapes and forests and oceans…. until humans destroy it.  But even then, it wicked to see how overwhelming destruction can be, i.e. electronic dumps in Africa.  I love to see trees growing on the tops of buildings or even on highways! There is a palmetto palm tree growing in the cracks of concrete in Tampa on N-275!  I think in  general, anyone is able to capture a comedic relief, for me, does it right!
4. FAVORITE ALBUM -  Harold and Maude soundtrack written by Cat Stevens. It’s sweet and it cheers me up most of the time.
5. BEST AREA TO CREATE IN- Â Alone, in your own space. Â For me, I have to work in silence. Not necessarily silence as in music, but more like silence as in people. Â When I am working around other people, I becomes super distracted and I get anxiety as a result. I can almost hear their thoughts or something. Â Even when people are silent, they are still so loud! - Unless they are like super zen and can tune out like yogis. But there are very few people who can be quiet when they are silent. I usually wait until everyone leaves to make something.
6. GOAL WHEN MAKING A PIECE -  My ideas change all the time as I am making something.  Sometimes it comes out how I imagined it, other times it doesn’t.  My goal is usually to finish it on time, or just simply finish it. Â
7. SELF DOUBT- Uh yeah, all the time. It becomes frustrating! I don’t want to be stuck in that limbo anymore!  As I get older I’m learning to stop this non sense and just dive right into making art. I don’t want to self doubt myself, its either Yes of No.  Make it or don’t make it.

9. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT INSTAGRAM-  I like instagram.  I wasn’t sure about it at first, but the more I use it the more I like it.  People are so creative and smart and its really inspiring just to look at photographs/videos! Â
