Water Inhabits The Stone. Irruptive Chora - a collective run by curator Agata Kik and artist Ania Mokrzycka (aka Pel Bonheur), presents Water Inhabits The Stone – a sonic experiment in giving form to an unrealised exhibition. Unconstrained by formal, spatial and temporal boundaries, the project transforms into a speculative journey, picking up on memories, traces and sounds, returning to once opened conversations and reimagining ones that never happened. Water Inhabits The Stone incorporates soundscapes, field recordings, spoken word and a dialogue between the hosts.
Isha Bøhling, artist and singer-songwriter presents a selection of her soundworks and songs.Â
Hope Not Hate at the Star and Shadow. Band Of Holy Joy are hosting a night of love and celebration in aid of the anti-racism organisation Hope Not Hate on 18th May 2019. As a prequel we look at both the history of this alternative cinema venue in Newcastle and the tradition of anti-racism in music.

Collaborations in Light and Sound by Jo Joelson. Session 2 features two artists that have shaped the evolution of the modern day ‘light show’ – with Joshua White and Willie Williams. Joshua White founder of Joshua Light Show who created mind-melting visuals for the biggest musical acts of the late sixties (Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, the Who); Willie Williams whose career as a lighting designer for some of the major rock tours of the last four decades talks about his work with Stiff Little Fingers, David Bowie, and his enduring collaboration with U2.
Collaborations in Light and Sound by Jo Joelson. Session 1 features the work of contemporary artists who combine light, sound and moving image – with Laura Buckley, Haroon Mirza and Jack Jelfs. Laura Buckley talks about the techniques she uses to create imagery and sound that feed into projected video and kinetic installations, with music collaborators Dave Maclean, (Django Django), Andrew Spence, (New Young Pony Club) and Andy Turner, (Plaid); Haroon Mirza and Jack Jelfs on their recent residency at CERN in Geneva (home of the Large Hadron Collider) and their shared interests in questions about the nature of consciousness, ontology, ritual, divinatory systems and the limits of language.
Guy Harries is a singer-songwriter, practising electronic troubadourism with his laptop and voice.
