"Hurry up, I'm going down!" You watch as she steps into the elevator and instinctively rush after her before anyone catches onto your intrusion.
Just as you’re about to step onto the elevator you freeze.There’s someone else in the elevator. A figure—tall, dressed in all black, helmet on.
You glance at your friend silently begging her to take the next. Instead just as the doors start closing she reaches for you, pulling you in. The pull makes you lose complete balance, almost bumping into the mysterious stranger. A quick apology escapes your lips immediately, followed by an elbow jab to your friend.
As the elevator begins its slow descent, your focus moves to the buttons on the elevator realizing only one of them is lit up, and it's the parking floor. Honestly you're still unsure what she had in mind coming here, but you assume the helmeted bike rider behind you isn't part of it. All this panicking isn't helping your intoxicated mind, but you try to think straight, grabbing onto your company's arm before she can escape you again.
As the elevator dings the doors slide open, you try your best to navigate the space to make it seem familiar to any curious eyes. You can hear her giggling, enjoying the chaos she has brought you as you finally reach the exit door leading to the parking lot.
The moment your hand presses on the door you feel the weight rejecting your weak arm muscles, forcing you to push harder than you expected with only one free arm. One second you feel all the weight of the door leaning against your hand, and next you feel none of it.

"We should ask him." You turn to her with a weary frown, scared of the words that will follow, "For a ride."
She's ready to drag you along with her but you're able to stop her before she starts. Just as you turn the corner you notice a couple motorcycles, one with a rider and another without. This one isn't wearing a helmet so you assume it's a different guy, but you still go back on you steps to avoid him.
As you take a couple steps backwards, he looks in your direction, eyebrows furrowing as he watches you. Just as you turn to walk away completely you bump into your familiar stranger, nose first straight to the chest.
You hear him curse under his breath pulling his helmet over his head, you echo the word as you let go of Lia, lifting your hands to your nose. You're about to excuse yourself with a quick apology when you feel his fingers press under your chin lifting your face up.
"Does it hurt a lot? I'm sorry, I didn't see you with the helmet." You step back flustered, pulling away from his touch shaking your head.
"No. I wasn't looking, I'm sorry." His eyes narrow at you for a moment before glancing over at Lia, who has been watching your exchange with anticipation.
"Will you be okay for the night? I can take you to a pharmacy if you need it." The softness in which his words caress your ears catches you off guard, genuine concern in his voice as he scans your features. For a second you feel inclined to accept his offer, but reason takes over.
"That won't be--"
"Yes. She needs it, her nose is probably broken, she was born with weak bones." You watch his face grow with concern as she goes on, he looks at you for a second and you can tell his mind is made up.
Before you can deny her claims he wraps his hand around your forearm sliding down to your hand, holding you there as he guides you to the other biker you spotted earlier.
"Siyun. You got a spare helmet?" Siyun glances between the two of you, your fingers locked in his hand, analysing the situation before nodding.
His hand wrapped around yours feels so familiar that once he lets go, you almost miss the warmth. He leaves you with the other biker, Siyun, to fetch another helmet for Lia.
"Hey." Siyun's voice brings your attention back, with a wave of embarrassment from being caught staring. You look up at him reluctantly, not daring to meet his eyes. For a second he hesitates, naturally making your eyes find his, instead of handing you the helmet he settles it down on one of the bikes.
"May I?" He asks, reaching for your face, you can't tell what he wants, but for some reason you nod nonetheless. His fingers almost barely trace your skin, gathering a few loose strands around your face pushing them behind your ear. His eyes dance around your features, from eyes, to nose, to lips, wetting his lips with his tongue before finding your eyes again.
"That's better." He helps you put the helmet on, placing it on your head and strapping it on just right. You can't help the way your eyes are like magnets to his face, following as he makes sure you're safe for the ride.
"Jiho's back." His eyes meet yours one last time before heading over to his bike. As you look away your eyes find Lia's, her eyebrows are furrowed and her mouth agape from the scene she just witnessed. You give her a deep frown, mouthing the words: "This is your fault" to her.
A knowing smile plays on her lips, a sudden pride washing her expression as she acknowledges her work.
Jiho rushes over with two helmets in his hands, the one that once covered his features and an additional one for Lia. As soon as he reaches you, his eyes land on you slightly concerned, "We should be leaving now, are you in any pain?"
"I'm really not, I really appreciate your guys' help, but we'll be fine from here." You finally decide to cut the act, hoping Lia won’t drag it any further.
"What? No! We literally need a ride downtown, it’s still so early." You sigh at the sound of her complaints, turn towards her shaking your head begging her to leave them alone.
"I can drive you--"
"No…" You quickly interrupt Jiho before he can convince you more. You would rather be safe than anything else, despite the obvious kindness in his stares you didn’t know him.
"Please, I insist. You would be busy somewhere else if it wasn't for me, let me at least make up for it." He tries once more, with a soft smile playing on his lips. You had intended to decline, but a second passes and it’s clear you’re hesitating.
You look over to your friend confused about your own reaction, and she reads clearly into it as a green light pushing on her helmet. Seeing you’re still reluctant she gives you a light push, guiding you towards your rider.
You stumble forward almost crashing into him, but his hands reach for you before you can hit him again. In the lapse of an hour, your face has been inches away from his chest more than once, and oddly enough each time you’ve tried to ignore the thundering on your own.
You tip your head up to look at him, his eyes wide with a hint of a smirk carved on his lips.
“Sorry,” you mumble, barely audible. “I tripped.”
“It’s okay, I’ve got you.” He smiles and you wonder if it’s the alcohol coming back or if it’s really just him that is making you lose all reasoning.
As his hands slowly let go, the distance between you feels so small all of a sudden, you shuffle backwards. You wonder if he notices you shying away each time your eyes meet, trying to listen while he explains how the ride works.
“Just hold on tight. Stay close. You’ll be safe with me.” His voice draws you in so naturally, you can’t avoid his gaze anymore. He flashes a satisfied smile lifting a hand above your head. In a swift motion he slides your helmet’s visor down, nods his head towards the bike inviting you on.
You glance at the motorcycle cringing slightly at the size. Just as you’re about to ask how to mount it you hear the other’s engine start and slowly grow louder as they approach. You turn to the pair on the bike, Siyun’s helmet is on now, though his eyes remain visible enough for you to catch the glance in your direction before he begins.
“Downtown through the Subs right?” Siyun focuses on his friend once again. Jiho gives him a sharp nod with an ok hand sign, confirming the question.
Siyun lets out a breathy “Cool…”, once again meeting your gaze trailing down to your fairly exposed upper body. He clears his throat once, tearing his eyes away from you. You feel the heat boiling up your face–from the tip of your ears to your collarbones– your eyes shaking from embarrassment.
“She’ll be cold out.” He isn’t talking to you but there’s a sort of intimacy in the way he says the words loud enough for you to hear without searching your gaze. That feeling only grows as you watch him, pulling his jacket off his shoulders to give Jiho, for you.
Lia lets out a dry cough, taken aback by the whole situation. You look at him as Jiho places the jacket over your shoulders, hoping to thank him with a smile at least. As soon as your lips curve up in a soft smile his gaze shifts, he pulls down his visor ready to get on the road.
“We’ll be at the exit.” Without waiting for a response he drives off with your friend. You look back at Jiho who helps you into the jacket—zipping it up halfway.
“He won’t wait for long.” He warns you with a humorous smile. Before you notice his hands are placed on your waist lifting you swiftly onto the bike. Your lips part open to rebuke his actions but you only end up watching him get on.
You wrap your arms around him, holding on tightly and before you can change your mind, he drives off.
The ride through the city is unreal to you, every light seems more spectacular than in your memories. Every frame feels memorable, the cool air breathing through your clothes as you drift through the streets.

You greet him one final goodbye, before walking over to your friend. With one glance you can tell she’s starting to sober up, and is ready for more drinks.
“He let you keep the jacket?” She asks, watching you get closer. Your eyes widen and you turn back immediately, jogging towards Siyun—still by his bike.
You start to take off the jacket in front of him, thanking him with all the words you could think of but he stops you.
“Keep it.” He reaches for you, pulling the jacket back on your shoulders, you look at him puzzled.
“There’ll be other chances to get it back, just keep it for tonight.” His eyes soften not in the same way as Jiho’s, but just enough for you to nod—accepting his offer.
A certain tension lingers for a beat too long. His stare becomes harder to read, you can’t tell if his eyes land on your lips because of desire or pure coincidence but he looks away before you can wonder longer.
He gets on his bike, just as Jiho is on his, and they both ride away. Putting an end to the rowdy beginning of the night.
