CTC Zine- guidelines, dimensions & rules!
rules are scary but unfortunately we need them for things to go right!! And since there’s no money changing hands and this is all volunteer, things should be pretty chill. Also because I’m kinda making this up as I go along. Shh.
First things first- rules. As usual, use your common sense for most of this, you’re smart people.
No NSFW. Nothing explicitly sexual and not even non-sexual nudity.
As far as ships go; all good, just keep it within things confirmed in canon. That would be Lillium x Iris, and Begonia x Heather.
Gore cannot exceed what is shown in the comic. No entrails, but blood and semi-graphic wounds are fine.
No weird shit. This goes without saying, yet I still gotta say it: No bigoted messages, no incest, no fetishization, again, use common sense.
Last of all, I reserve the right to turn down a submission, but I will not do so lightly and will only do so if it breaks an aforementioned rule. In which case, I’ll contact you, telling you I couldn’t accept it and exactly why- so if you send it back revised, I’d be happy to have it!!! <3
Now, onto the numbers!! Once again, categorized for your convenience.
Art, edits, and cosplay pictures generally follow the same guidelines. Art and edits are eligible for full page spreads, cosplay phots are not.
A minimum of 1000x1000 px for standard pieces as well as edits and cosplay photos, though it can be any shape/dimension as long as each side is at least 1000 pixels.
Spreads should be 8.5 x 11 inches, 150 dpi
Comics technically fall under ‘spreads’, so each page should be the same, but I recommend you include a quarter inch border or so so it displays correctly. Comics can be a maximum of two pages.
All art must be at least colored and minimally shaded, with some sort of background. It can be an abstract pattern or simple shape, but put something please!
Traditional will be accepted but it must be a high quality scan and fit the dimensions.
I will accept previously-made pieces, but in the spirit of things and in order to increase the specialty of the zine, I humbly ask you to do a fresh one :-)
Each story must have a title along with the body.
The minimum is 500 words, maximum is 5000.
Swearing is allowed, as long as it isn’t a slur- even if the slur reclaimed by a group you’re a part of.
Submission deadlines and amount
Submissions close May 10th!!
If you submit a piece on or very near the deadline, you will have three days to fix it past deadline if it doesn’t meet rules. Otherwise, no submissions past deadline.
Each contributor can submit up to two separate pieces
Cosplayers can submit up to three pictures of the same cosplay under one “submission”. If they do a second submission it must be of a different cosplay.
Similarly, if an editor wants to make a matching ‘set’ they can, but again it maxes out at three. They must have a clear theme, though.
If you’re not a writer want to title your submission, feel free to, and I’ll include it! But it is not required unless you’re a writer.
