Tbh I think having Binghe around Qing Jing as a role model for the disciples will do so much good the emotional intelligence of the peak. Of course it’s okay to cry, Shimu always cries when he’s sad! Of course it’s okay to ask for attention, Shimu’s always asking Shizun for it! Of course it’s okay to get upset, Shimu gets upset sometimes and leaves until he calms down. These children are going to be so well regulated and get all their emotional needs met. Also Binghe being able to get kids to admit things they’re scared of getting in trouble for by saying “I’m literally a demon who once attacked the sect and fought Liu Qingge every single day for five years and almost blew up the world, and I’m still here. You cannot have done something worse than that.”

Post-canon Luo Binghe has a tendency to disappear for odd periods of time. For someone so clingy, this is rather odd behavior, but there’s no pattern that Shen Qingqiu can see.

Sometimes it happens after an argument, sometimes after a nightmare, but sometimes it happens when things seem to be going really well!

Always, it’s immediately followed by a slightly more elaborate than usual meal. Normal enough, although occasionally something comes out rather.. bad. Not that Shen Qingqiu would say anything! Clearly something is going on if the protagonist’s cooking is suffering! Or perhaps it’s simply a new recipe that went awry, and Shen Qingqiu doesn’t want to be discouraging, so he simply chokes it down with his usual level of compliment.

One day Shen Qingqiu is tasked with tracking down an exceedingly rare and potent cure for a fellow cultivator. He knows precisely where to find one and prepares to head out, but Binghe is acting rather shifty and gently trying to deter him from going.

Turns out that Binghe really isn’t over his death, and every time things get fraught, or even too good, he hunts down some rare mythical cure-all. Just in case. It couldn’t hurt. It might help! And that flower.. might not be there anymore.

Xuan Su reaches a level of cultivation that allows it to take a human form- and it and Yue Qingyuan disappear from the public eye- and also the private one. They avoid one on one meetings with their sect siblings and cancel Peak Lord meetings... Until eventually Shen Qingqiu is fed up with Yue Qingyuan and storms into the Sect Leader's quarters to find him in a staring contest with... It must be Xuan Su but...

The sword is a glowing ghostly vision of Yue Qingyuan in the Lingxi Caves- battered and bloody and openly weeping.

As soon as Shen Qingqiu enters the sword turns to him.

"Xiao Jiu." It says in a strange raspy voice and then runs over to hug him.

Shen Qingqiu hugs the ghost of teen Yue Qingyuan on autopilot. Adult Yue Qingyuan looks devastated.

"What is this?" He demands from Yue Qingyuan.

But Yue Qingyuan can't bring himself to explain even now... So Xuan Su reaches up, takes his face in its strangely warm hands and shows Shen Qingqiu itself.

He sees everything, from Xuan Su's perspective. The sword pulling, the caves, Yue Qi clawing at the walls and screaming his name over and over.

He wakes up flat on his back with the smell and taste of ashes on his tongue after watching Yue Qi digging through the ruins of Qiu Manor.

Yue Qingyuan is holding him. Xuan Su is kneeling nearby watching them both.

Shen Jiu punches Qi-ge in the face and then hugs him tightly.

Xuan Su grins.

AU where Shen Yuan transmigrates into one of the unnamed peak lords, and everyone mistakes him for having a crush on Shen Qingqiu because they can't figure out why else he keeps going over to Qing Jing Peak and trying to like, interfere in the man's business.

Yue Qingyuan keeps trying to nobly give him his blessing, after all if he makes Shen Qingqiu happy then this is all that truly matters, meanwhile Shen Yuan is ??? because as far as he can tell Shen Qingqiu would be perfectly pleased to see him drop dead.

Which is accurate, because unlike Shen Yuan, Shen Qingqiu is definitely aware of what people are saying and yet cannot figure out if that's actually what's going on. He keeps receiving his shidi with icy politeness and every possible passive-aggressive discouragement, but even though Shen Yuan sometimes gives indication of intense disapproval, he also just keeps coming back.

AU where Shen Yuan is LQG and LMY's hot older brother. Liu Mingyuan??

At a Peak lord meeting there is a big argument over some rare beast and then LQG grunts and is like "I know who can help" and just leaves and doesn't explain anything. Then a few days later he's dragging in this guy so hot he makes LQG look like he got hit with the ugly stick. He is polite and excitedly explains all this stuff they needed to know like it's no sweat.

YQY asks if he'll stay in the sect for a little while so they can work together. SY agrees and from that point onwards is absolutely wifebeaming basically everyone who crosses his path. Rumor has it that WQW almost threw down with MQF over this guy. Xuan Su and An Ding have been active combat zones for days. Even that prissy bitch SQQ got mildly pink and covered his face with his fan!! Do you understand what this means?!

Also just the idea of LQG abd LMY, two certified baddies, being like "I know I'm not ugly but I'm not THAT attractive" because they have grown up next to impossible standards their whole lives is very funny.

Because of their jobs, Shen Yuan and Bingge can’t always be together. After the honeymoon period of traveling, they had to settle back into the roles they have taken, the time consuming duties and distance included. Shen Yuan misses Binghe certainly, but he knows his husband has it worse. Binghe needs reassurance, otherwise their reunions are always tear soaked, his husband utterly convincing himself that Shizun will leave him for good this time. Shen Yuan can’t have that! But in lieu of voice messages, he decides to write Binghe letters, labeled on the outside for when to open them. ‘Open if Binghe is blaming himself’ ‘Open if Binghe feels he’s a bad ruler’ ‘Open if Binghe feels lonely’. He writes new ones as Binghe goes through them, even knowing he keeps and rereads them. They make his husband feel happy and safe, and that’s all Shen Yuan has ever wanted.

Shen Yuan is actually a great cautionary tale abt underestimating the effect your presence has on the ones you care about. You are fucking important. Your good actions matter, and won’t be completely erased by one bad deed. Your life matters. People care about you. They won’t stop caring about you just bc you think they would be justified to. Communicate. Do not kys right in front of your favourite person out of a misguided attempt to cheer them up with your death you fucking idiot I swear to Airplane.
