VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION!!!!!!!
I think almost everyone is aware of the anon hate attack ongoing on tumblr, mostly in the supernatural fandom, directed mainly to subjects who already struggle with depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts.
Now some sources (x) say that there might be a final and heavier attack on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day. The people behind the attack seem to be planning to post hardcore gore and porn in all the most famous tags and to keep on sending hate and hacking accounts with the intent of triggering people and pushing them to hurt themselves. Do you remember that this happened also during last summer? And do you remember how awful it was? Please, this could be or not be true, but IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to follow this steps for your own health and also for the others’ to prevent bad things to happen:
On 31st ans 1st stay out of the tags. Don’t go for any reason into any kind of tags, especially if you have triggers.
Turn anon off. Yes, that’s right. EVERYONE TURN ANON OFF during both days. Everyone will be safer and more comfortable, spending new year’s day the way they’re supposed to.
Reinforce your account’s security by enabling two-factor authentication. It will make it harder for the hackers to steal your account. If you enable it, everytime you log in, after having written the password, a message with a number code will be sent to your phone, and you’ll have to write it too to be able to log in. It’s very simple: go to settings>account>security>two-factor authentication (enter your phone number of course).
The best thing for everyone would be to just take a day off of tumblr, so that everyone will be safer.
IF EVERYBODY FOLLOWS THIS STEPS WE CAN STOP THEIR ATTACK, WE CAN DEFEND OURSELVES AND ATTACK THEM AT THE SAME TIME. Believe me, it’s safer for everybody. This could also be only a rumour, but as you’ll remember they did something like this before, so better safe than sorry.
